Found some gameplay footage here.

I'm definitely not impressed by what I'm seeing, the titan or whatever is animated pretty poorly, and nothing stands out at all as being new or exciting.

This thread isn't exactly getting me all hot and bothered either, a lot of mediocre one-liner reviews.

I haven't really been into a Gas Powered Games game since the first Dungeon Siege, which I loved. Sequel was a mess, and they seem to only be getting sloppier as time goes on.

I'm concerned about the multiplayer aspect. It is using peer to peer for the communication , rather than a server. The last games that tried that ended up with cheaters and hacks in a lot of the games.

You mean like almost every Gas Powered Game ever?

I'm gonna throw this out there, the game's online portion is currently not playable due to problems with either the server or netcode (who can tell). Don't rush out to get this game, cus it's not gonna work for at least a day or two if not a lot longer.

this is due to the fact that you shouldn't even be able to own the game yet. The planned release date was the 15th. Gamestop released it early before the servers were up so stardock also released it early on impulse since it was already out there. and then they had to scramble to get servers up because it happened about 5 days before they had planned. So I wouldnt blame the server/netcode so fast.

Wrong.. this was not Gamestops fault. It was never entered from the manufacture as streetdated item so the second everyone including target fry's etc received it they put it on the shelves.
had nothing to do with Gamestop being idiots.

GS is not to blame on this one. Saturday I was able to find the game not only at gamestop but at Frys (huge display there) but also target as well.

I got mine from Gamestop and there were NO STREET DATE stickers from the manufacture on the case nor the box or in the computer.

Gamestop may be evil to alot of you but in this case it just isnt true.

as for the game its ok.. too few units.. too few maps.. and it seems to be half the game DOTA was..

disappointed but only 39 bucks.

well, I'm going to pick up demigod from a download. As much as I like a box, I really do want to support stardock as much as possible, especially since they're not treating gamers like criminals.

i got more annoyed at OK GO than the kid.

just played 2 rounds in single player against the computer to get a feel for the game.

1st: i like it a lot. it's basically DOTA, and it's very fun.
2nd: it's optimized as hell. i'm running 1080p at medium details with a 256mb 2600xt and it still looks good :Q
3rd: can't wait to get online and play with people

Just played my first round on the online pantheon as the archer. I've never played DOTA, but I thought it was a lot of fun. The game itself feels good and the graphics are very polished. However, the server problems definitely haven't been fixed yet. All of the menu's for multiplayer take forever to load. I have to wait two minutes just to open the login screen. If they can just fix that quickly, I would definitely recommend this game.

Just tried to play an online game and one single person from france basically made me feel like I was playing back in the old StarCraft days on a P133mmx with 32mb of RAM.

Exited that trash and started another game. Went smooth as hell, and it's nice because there are so many people who are new to the game I was top kills with 32 kills 1 death 5 assists and the next person down was like 18 kills.

Not sure on mod support - there are a couple of language translations by fans in the works. A game/map editor set will be released in the future.

Part of GPG's agreement with Stardock was that the game will receive constant, free updates for at least a year - this includes new content, new maps, nerfs/buffs, and at the very least, two new demigods (which are already in the works/testing). SD and GPG will be polling the community to find out what they are looking for in terms of new demigods and they intend to eventually add those to the game. Frogboy isn't one to make gradiose claims so I'm willing to bet there is a lot of truth there.

I picked up this game a few days ago and love it.

I am still learning how to use the generals but overall the game is very fun.

As an added perk, never thought I had impulse but as it turns out, it is installing my Galactic Civ 2 game that I used to own as well. I lost the disc/case awhile ago. Talk about a nice surprise!

It's a pretty fun game that could be a lot better with improvements and additions that will hopefully come over time.

I found a bit of a problem, assuming it's 2 evenly matched teams.

I just finished playing a conquest 4v4 with 2 evenly matched teams. Regulus (me), Unclean Beast, Rook and Torchbearer v.s. Lord Erebus, Oak, Queen of Thorns and Torchbearer. After playing a long match, everyone was lvl 20 and it was impossible to kill anyone! We had captured all the flags (snake looking level, +15%hp x2, +30% minon damage and hp x2, +15mana per sec + 15hp sec, + 10% damage, -15% cooldowns) and we were closing in on the dark citadel but at that point, with everyone geared up with artifacts, we found it impossible to kill each other. I had 0.5sec attack rate, 720-800dmg per shot, ~50% life steal, 15% faster move, +300 damage and +20% damage on use items (10 sec) and even then we couldn't kill each other with everyone else stacked up with life leech, armor and hp/sec.

Basically the only player i could kill on a regular basis was QoT and the only player they could kill was Rook, otherwise, we would just stand around trading shots. The only way to get a kill would be to luckily catch someone too far from allies with a 3 or 4v1. We had destroyed all their towers, but there were just too many spawned mobs and the enemies were too strong to kill anyone. Eventually I just stood back and sniped the cathedral down (wih a hit and runs while the enemy was distracted) but I can see many long games with decent players drawing out to a no-kill, no win situation.
