I picked up the game over the weekend. I really like the Rook the most so far but I also want to check our Regulus (the archer).

The singleplayer mode isn't very enjoyable. Tournament mode on hard basically pits you against hard ai's while giving you a team of easy ai's and you win by having the high score despite losing most of the games. skirmish might entertain for a few games but I don't think its worth the purchase price without multiplayer.
Thanks, that's good to know. How long does an MP game usually take? Or what is the range between a fast game and one that goes to the wire?
for me it seems like the larger maps yield shorter games. sometimes a match might be over in 15-20 minutes or last longer than an hour, depending on the map and the skill of your opponents

This game is fricking hard.. I am such a noob at RTS' and thought something like this without microgament would be easier but I still feel noobish. Are there any guides out there like what skills/items to get first?

tiduz,
It is very immature for you to bad mouth your mate, no matter how bad he was.
It's only a game and you prob hurt his feelings.
When I first started this game, I was horrible...died at least 22 times in one game, feeding them. At one point we lost almost all the flags, but my mates stood by me and didn't cus me out. One actually bought a nice armor for me to suit. We ended up winning the game (major comeback) and I thanked my mates for being so patient and not quitting. They taugh me how to play thru the chat and I eventually picked it up toward the end of the match.
I hope you do the same in the future.

I just started playing this game 2 weeks ago and I am really enjoying it.
I have few questions regarding the multiplayer mode.
1. If your opponents quit early in the game, do you have to stay on to receive those favor points?
2. Trophy items, are they bought using favor points from the winning games? How many games do you have to win to get the best item? I currently have the 800health+ item
3. How do you check your mates and opponent's stat? How do you ban someone?
4. The matches seem to be uneven as there is no random selection (just joining the game option), and some may have better trophy items thus just stomping you.
thanks!
btw, I think the demigods are uneven in strength. For instance, Oak just plain suck.

1. I believe you do.
2. A lot of people consider the 800 hp item to be the best one. I usually use the teleport one or the -cooldown one. It depends on what you're trying to do with your hero. When I first started I had a lot of success using the cheap +xp item with rook though I'm not sure that was the optimal thing to do at the time
3. The demigod website has the pantheon section where you can search players names and see their histories.
4. Most expensive favor items aren't necessarily the best for the situations you may be in and the difference certainly wouldn't result in you being stomped. There is a problem with team stacking for someone who has no friends. Custom games they can just outright do it, and in the random team up options there's people who queue together and cancel out of the matchup if they aren't grouped together since you can see the matchup before the game launches.
On the note of #4 is there an anandtech group or something?
