I would love to see some of the subforums back under OT. NOT Politics but most of the others.

I've only been here a short time compared to some others but I do remember the days when everything was shoved under OT (L&R, Garage, H&F, etc.). There seemed to be more topics, activity and input back then.

But I'd vote to keep P&N separate and go back to what it was before.

Its because Off Topic is supposed to be a leftover/spillover. If we have more forums, then we contain relevant topics within each.

The reason OT is getting boring is because the participants are boring. You can only Nef so much until people start ignoring you/it.

You have to understand though, people have lives oustide of this place, some of them very complicated.

Anyway, I think Derek is awesome and does a great job considering everything he has to deal with. He has been nothing but nice to me, so I get pissed off when people slag him.

we are talking about derek not the rest of the mods. most of you do a damn good job and have no complaints (well i do but have learned there is no point in voices them).

what we are talking about is derek. while yes i understand he is busy running the main site. the point is he is sopposed to be the guy we go to when we have a problem with the moderation. In that capacity he is useless.

he is so busy or just don't care. when there is a problem he takes weeks to respond IF ever.

I agree. I've personally met Derek. A lot of ignorance in the above posts. He runs the forum backend - he lets the senior mods run the frontend. The backend costs money, and that is what he focuses on. The frontend costs time, which he doesn't have, and shouldn't be expected to have.

and what about the ignorance of the moderaters about what we are talkign about? Whenver there is a issue with a mod we are told to go to Derek.

IF he does not have the time or care then maybe there should be someone else? that is one of the problems many have and it seems to be ignored. there is nobody to act as buffer between mods and users when there is a real problem.

this all started with the 'change of culture' years back and then the sub forums coming in. traffic has dramatically slowed down and continued to decrease over time ever since then.

doubt it'll ever go back up to how it was years ago.
