you are pathetic ... although some smokers smell like ass, i have lots of friends/family members that smoke and not smell like ass. maybe you think this way because people that are around you smell like ass because you are an ass. you fvckin asshat discriminator....

your friends and family, in addition to being inbred retards, smell like ass then. i don't hang out with smokers, so your statement is idiotic, much like most of the other ones you've made in this thread. you probably can't smell how bad smokers smell cause you smell like sh1t. some of us practice good hygiene. maybe you and your mom should give that a try.

You suck

How do you think he knows so much about what ass smells like?

i smelled it on your breath?

However, secondary smokers get the damage for not smoking,
and I think its not really fair,
smokers should just smoke in a conceal place. therefore = non selfish smokers ;)

Non of you, save Netopia, have presented anything new since about the 2nd or 3rd page. Netopia made a good analogy, it was one that I have seen nearly word for word. It still isn't in the same boat as smoking. Unless I guess you had an addiction to your cologne and spraying it.

NFS4 I can pull up hundreds of similar links about the hazards of car pollution and their direct result on humans and the environment.
Are you trying to prove that second hand smoke is unhealthy? I think at this point it's all common sense.
Also, posting links from a slew of anti-smoking private organizations really doesn't say much for the objectiveness of the data presented.
On top of the sources you sited, only one article is newer than 1996. That "article" is one of thoes "facts" sheets they hand out, or have sitting out in libraries. You know the ones, primarily aimed at marijuana. Loaded with "facts"

.
I would think that you would respond to at least one of my posts.

I've read every single post in this thread and to say most of you argue like uneducated children, is an understatement.
The main argument here is "You smokers don't think about the other person and their health when you light up".
Wait, so, smokers are all apathetic assholes who go around killing people in the wake of their own enjoyment right?

So, if you compare that to say, the products you buy everyday. I would say that you don't NEED about 85% of what your fat ass american family owns. No matter how "green" you think you are, you arn't. In fact, you arn't even CLOSE.
Let's see what we have here.... Sneakers! The people who makes thoes are put in extreme danger everyday at their work place, for roughly 16 hours a day. I suppose I could name a bunch of industries with similar conditions, but I think you should be able to get the point.
Thing is, as an American, you are probably in THE most apathetic nation in the world. Yet, you think something like smoking is such a horrible injustice to others around it.

good post. I wouldn't generalize all Americans like that but your post is mostly true.
during H.S. and college, I found it very interesting that almost 75% of students smoked pot in secret but were so angry and full of hate when talked about cigarettes.

Talk about over generalizing. For starters, no one said ALL smokers. So at least get that fact straight. Only an idiot would actually try to compare driving a car to smoking a cig. And your argument is flawed just like Xietys and others. If I buy sneakers and wear them, I'm not harming anyones health by doing so.
I'm not sure where you got the Americans are apathetic as a nation argument.
How about this. You come back to this thread when you actually get a clue about what you're talking about, mmmmkay? :)

SammySon, why don't we just let this thread die and laugh at their face? Obviously facts hurt. They just can't admit it. And people like dabuddha, have trouble understanding English. So it's not worth it. Besides the poor 12 year old dabuddha think he is going to annoy us by putting smileys and "mmmmkay?" in his posts. How desperate in need of attention. Pathetic.

You keep throwing this word "facts" around, there are no facts in this entire thread. An opinion is not fact son.
Only an idiot would present a retort without a supporting argument. I have clarified the car analogy more than once. At this point all you are doing is skimming and then dissing. Excellent tactic, you should use that with your future employers, or mabey your college professors.

By you wearing that shoe, you keep another child in a hazardous work environment. So yes, you are harming their health.
Also, when you throw thoes sneakers away, and they don't biodegrade for 2 billion years, you are continuing to hurt others health.
I'm not sure you even understand what apathetic means.

How about this, when you are out of highschool, old enough to smoke and vote, AND you actually have a good retort, then comon back.
MMMMMKAY.
If you are out of highschool, then I pity you for being such a highschoolesque mentality.

I don't need to laugh in their faces. This was a fairly good thread, until people started being sarcastic children.
All this does is make me sad that we have such blind people forging ahead to rule the world, with their heads firmly planted in their asses.

LOL I can't even begin to point out all the places you're wrong. I like how people resort to childish insults when they know they don't have a leg to stand on. Your sneaker analogy is so wrong it's not even funny. Well maybe just a little :) The car analogy is so asanine that I'm not going to waste my time pointing it out to you. I figure that if you haven't seen it yet, you never will. So how about we call it a truce for now and when you actually come up with something that you didn't just make up out of thin air, then you come back, son :D

Ok, instead of flapping your yap, mabey you should point out where I'm wrong. All you have been doing is calling people out, and then providing nothing but pesonal insults. You are responding to peoples threads, telling them they are wrong, and then insulting them for making up "facts" and being wrong.
So, you go ahead and tell me why my car analogy is wrong. You can't use the "cars are a necessity" argument, because that's already been disproven.

So, balls in your court kid. Has been thrown into your court by numerous people, and you just ignore it.
Oh, you ARE right about one thing, you CAN'T even begin to point out all the places I'm wrong.

Most smokers are inconsiderate, plain and simple. I have no problems if someone wants to smoke. But you stay the hell away from me and from the front of buildings. I know it's a law around here that you have to be at least 25 feet away from the front of buildings to smoke. And they do smell like ass. People who say they don't are just used to the stench. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if we supported people who fart in your face because it's virtually the same thing.

Not an anti smoking zealot here. I just believe in common courtesy which most smokers probably don't even know the definition of. Would you be willing to endure 5 seconds of someone farting in your face? If so, then I'll just leave it at that

Oh boy now this is turning into "I'm a big strong man on the internet and if you come here I'm going to beat you down."

Grow up already.

I don't recall NFS4 ever saying he had a car that pukes out 200x as much chemicals as smoking does.

So that means you're not very respectful of others when you smoke.

Driving a car can be a necessity. Smoking is NOT Anyone that believes it is, is an idiot. Try using a better analogy, mmkay?

Nice! Can't argue with the facts so you turn to insults. Try doing what I asked you to do in a previous post. Grow up!

Uh no. It is not a necessity. Try again moron!

Nice try Come back when you've grown up a little!

Go away now troll boy. Either argue the facts or stop with the insults, it's childish.

Perhaps you should actually go back and read the thread. I've posted quite a bit if you'd care to open your eyes and ears. Unfortunately, people like you and Xiety don't seem to know how to actually open their minds.

I've noticed how people get defensive and insulting when they're faced with facts they can not refute.

Definitely in resteraunts. I don't want that nasty crap around the food that I'll be eating. I have no problems with Parks or any outdoors type place as long as they stay the hell away from me or any other non smokers.

You're right about that. My wife is really allergic to cig smoke and she gets really sick if she smells it. Eating at restaurants tends to be difficult because of this. It's really hard to enjoy your food when you're sick to your stomach. I've asked people before if they wouldn't mind smoking somewhere else and they've been polite and have put out their cigs before. But there are also the ones that get defensive and become asinine when asked to put out their cigs. Even when they can see it's making my wife sick.

hahaha

Well, there is EVERY single one of your posts in this entire thread.
The only one of ANY relevance is the above quote I've bolded.

So, you are completely biased because of your wife's affliction. Gee, just like you said, "Perhaps you should actually go back and read the thread. I've posted quite a bit if you'd care to open your eyes and ears. Unfortunately, people like you and Xiety don't seem to know how to actually open their minds." , well I did, and I don't find anything here but your bs opinion based upon the situation you have to endure because of your wife.

I'm sorry, you said come back when what?

Wow, I guess your guys's tempers are smokin' hot! LOL

Damn, worst joke ever.

Cars do pollute. But what other option is there? don't drive? that topic deserves it own thread, so I won't delve into it. Anyway, people drive ICE because there is no really viable option right now, and it's cheaper. Once gas gets a bit more expensive, and H2+O=E+H2O cars get going, ICE cars will go away, save antiques and 3rd world countries.

Smokers, however, have a very viable option, that saves them their money and their health. Also, people generally never stand/sit in room with a car's exhaust pipe blowing in their faces, and they generally dont even stay in rooms with running cars in them. I once smoked but quit when I realised the above.

can't we all just get along? if you don't like the smoke, move away, its simple. in a restuarant? request a non smoking section. its a free country smokers should be allowed to smoke even if it annoys the people around them.

whether or not the car is standing still or moving, it is still polluting the environment which is still harmful to us all yes?

Let' see, America is about the only country where the automobile is the primary mode of transport.
Yes, the solution is to not drive or to drive a lot less. Public transit, car pool, ride a bike, anything.

Saying there is no other viable option is complete bullsh!t. Americans are obsessed with the automobile, and have been for over 50 years.
I mean, what did we do before the automobile? Life must have not existed or carried on for the past 2000 years.
Ask any european who lives across the pond and has visited America. First thing they wonder, "why can't I get everywhere I need with trains?".
Also, generally, people DO sit in traffic with someones car exhaust pipe blowing in the air intake of another car. People generally DO walk on the sidewalks next to major streets, where the exhaust pipes are pointed at the side of the road. Have you ever seen a smog warning in Los Angeles or toronto because of cigarette smoke?

Borderline lunacy is your inability to see beyond your opinion.

Where do people get this idea that in Europe everyone cycles? The car is still the primary method of transport in Britain or france. Although people are a lot more willing to walk short distances - like between stores or to the mailbox, in Europe. This could be something to do with the fact that Europeans tend to put sidewalks on the sides of roads more.
And you can't get everywhere in the US in trains because the government wasn't / isn't willing to subisdise it enough.

I'm actaully implying that the primary mode is by train. Not by cycle.
