I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if we supported people who fart in your face because it's virtually the same thing.

so im assuming all you anti smoking zealots have to put up with just reeking of smoke everyday?
big deal, someone is smoking outside a building....OH NO! you have to endure 5 secs (if that) of "stench"?
cry me a river, please. im so sad for you!
is this a common occurance where you cannot escape the EVIL SMOKERS who constantly chase you down to blow smoke in your face and all over your clothes? i doubt it.

Not an anti smoking zealot here. I just believe in common courtesy which most smokers probably don't even know the definition of. Would you be willing to endure 5 seconds of someone farting in your face? If so, then I'll just leave it at that :)

Is it such a crime to ask you to NOT smoke in public places where it has an effect on others? Are you that desperate for a smoke that you can't wait til you're in the privacy of your own car or home to smoke? I don't think it's that much to ask.

It's a simple matter of respect for others.

It's not a crime for you to ask people not to smoke in public places. However it has nothing to do with desperation. It's simply a matter of choice.

Smoking is not the only thing that has effects on others. Irresponsible drivers, irresponsible manufacturers, irresponsibe government officials, and a lot of other things (simple example: War in Iraq) effect me and others. You can't stop everything from happening.

As I said above, it's a simple matter of choice.

i'm not an anti smoking zealot either. if someone didn't take a bath for a week, i wouldn't want to be around them either. other than the smell and throwing butts everywhere, i don't really care what people do. except xiety. he needs to be deodorized. hahaha. :p

you are pathetic ... although some smokers smell like ass, i have lots of friends/family members that smoke and not smell like ass. maybe you think this way because people that are around you smell like ass because you are an ass. you fvckin asshat discriminator....

your friends and family, in addition to being inbred retards, smell like ass then. i don't hang out with smokers, so your statement is idiotic, much like most of the other ones you've made in this thread. you probably can't smell it how bad smokers smell cause you smell like sh1t. some of us practice good hygiene. maybe you and your mom should give that a try.

1. Don't insult my family.
2. I am 99% sure I am more hygienic than you are. Just pay me a visit.
3. Ask any board member that knows me. Even their girlfriends always compliment me about how good I smell.

First of all, that doesn't make it right...

Secondly, you have direct control over your ability (or inability) to stop smoking around others. It's a simple choice. DO NOT SMOKE AROUND OTHERS. WAIT TIL YOU ARE IN THE COMPANY OF OTHER SMOKERS OR IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN PROPERTY.

my thoughts exactly.

I don't smoke, but I find it disturbing how Americans discriminate against smokers.

I agree. You'd think with all the problems in the world they'd find something really worth getting outraged over - no wait; that might take balls - better just stick to crying about smokers on the internet.

Take the same "consideration" when you start your POS car in the morning and it pukes out 200x as much chemicals as smoking does.

I'll ask this again. If your wife was pregent (or you have a newborn baby in the house) or if your kid had asthma, would you smoke around them?

If not, why? If yes, why?

If you answer no to either question, then you have no argument whatsover.

give me the total percentage of women pregnant + has asthma in U.S.

if it's less than 50% you have no argument either. smokers got the majority in their hands.

I generally smoke outside on my balcony, if my pregnant wife and newborn were outside on the porch while I was smoking, then yes I would smoke around them. In the house, no, simply because I for the most part don't smoke inside.

I don't see how saying "No" to either question disbars any argument at all.

no and no
and i do have an argument. i am a very respectful to others when i smoke. and when the time comes for me and my GF to have a child, the smoking will stop.
if im outside with family or friends, cowokers who dont smoke, i stand away from them and try not to be downwind from them, im not going to stop smoking because they are outside with me. but im not going to be standing right next to them. if im trapped in a stuck elevator for 20 mins, im not going to smoke. believe it or not, you can smoke and still be respectful. and i either throw my butts away or in an ashtray. so, i might be in the minority. but ppl like me arent your problems. BUT...if im in a casino, bar or restaraunt where smoking is allowed. TS. im going to smoke.

First off, I don't smoke anymore, so the answer would be "No, I wouldn't because I don't smoke anymore".
If I did still smoke, then the answer would be "Yes, I would because I'm a smoker."
Would I go out of my way to smoke in FRONT of them? Probably not. But I sure wouldn't go out of my way to NOT smoke around them.

Now, why is it if I answer "no" to either of thoes questions, then I have no argument? You didn't lay down any ground breaking information here, or present a question that makes me step back and think. Playing the child/pregnancy card is an easy way out.

Now, answer me a question. If your wife was pregnant, would you let her ride in a car?
More people die from car accidents than by smoking. So, if its SO dangerous to health, why would you subject her to that?

Please, think deeper before you try to pose a question that will trip me up.

no and no
and i do have an argument. i am a very respectful to others when i smoke. and when the time comes for me and my GF to have a child, the smoking will stop.
if im outside with family or friends, cowokers who dont smoke, i stand away from them and try not to be downwind from them, im not going to stop smoking because they are outside with me. but im not going to be standing right next to them. if im trapped in a stuck elevator for 20 mins, im not going to smoke. believe it or not, you can smoke and still be respectful. and i either throw my butts away or in an ashtray. so, i might be in the minority. but ppl like me arent your problems. BUT...if im in a casino, bar or restaraunt where smoking is allowed. TS. im going to smoke.

So that means you're not very respectful of others when you smoke.
