He's basically a freaking biomech, and he's holding a bow. Sorry, but he should have bazookas coming out of his asshole before he's holding a bow.

Hahahaha....imagine him saying "Maximum Power" before realeasing one of those bazookas XD

And i think the London Olympics might be interested in the cover shot. XD

I'm guessing you aren't a fan of the Green Arrow or Hawkeye.

It's already been mentioned, but a bow will probably let you shoot while cloaked. Traditionally in Crysis, when you shoot while stealthed, you immediately break stealth and lose your suit's remaining energy reserves, a pretty hefty penalty for one shot. If a bow let's you stay cloaked after the shot, it'll be an interesting new game mechanic.

I like the idea of a bow as part of a stealth mechanic, the stealth in Crysis was awful to be honest, trying to use it regularly was boring and ineffective, if there's one area of crysis I was disappointed in most it was lack of proper stealth game play.

After Crysis 2 there's no way I'm touching 3 though, haha xD

LOL you got bad ass weapons, the choice of any rocket launcher and explosive weapons in the last 2 crysis games and you go back to the year of our lord 1452 with a bow and arrow.:awe:

Next you will be flinging dirty tampons at pmsing aliens in Crysis 4.

Yup, Crysis 2 was a console-port turdfest. The fact that Crysis 3 is already on the radar and coming so soon says to me we can expect another port turd.

Crytek got my money on C2, not fooling me again on C3.

Could you imagine how sick it would be deep in a thick rich jungle on a tree with the sun behind you in cloak mode, bow drawn... loaded with chemical filled razer bb's ready to take out... whatever.

If they (Crytek) took the "Predator" approach I would cream my pants.

Nuclear bow and arrow achieved :awe:

Disregarding the bow (funny though it may be), from the skyscraper in the background it seems like this is another quasi-corridor shooter set in the original, never-before-seen-in-games New York City. Lame. I like the jungle setting of crysis 1, running around NYC has no interest to me so I skipped 2, and likely 3..

on the incrysis forums (which crytek employees post on) they are thinking it's London (based on some of the buildings) and it's probably in the rural area... not sure how credible, but two of the pics so far are wooded scenes.

Maybe not the city nor Jungle, but out in the stix!

Can't wait for Crysis 3. Loved the 1st two.

And I can't believe you nerds are arguing about a damn bow. Learn to enjoy things.

ftfy

Also, there is nothing to enjoy right now, the game hasn't even been announced. Learn to enjoy funny discussions.

Then it's even more outrageous. 😉

"We have the technology to create laser ammunition! However, in the process we've lost the means to design triggers and so the lasers must be fired with a traditional bowstring. Badass!"

"Here is your other weapon. It's a missile! But not just any old missile, we removed the engine and replaced it with a sword handle. Maximum power!"
Fucking LOL!

I liked the 2nd more than the first

*shrugs*

I had to mod the shit out of the first one to get it to look the way it was hyped. I was disappointed.

Alrighty, then. Now it's official. About a year from now we'll get to experience another chapter in the Crysis saga.

Crysis 3 is a sandbox first-person shooter set in the year 2047, 24 years after Crysis 2. You'll be playing as Prophet. The setting is again New York. Your mission is to stop Cell Corporation's attempt to take over the planet. You'll be battling Ceph and human enemies inside a giant Nanodome that has turned New York City into a rainforest. There will be seven different environments to explore. New weapons, such as the high-tech composite bow, will be at your disposal. You'll also get to operate a further-developed Nanosuit.

Crysis 3 will be released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

After the beep you'll be seeing the first screenshots, box art and the press release.

Extrapolating from the C1 to C2 changes, I suspect C3 will actually have a Facebook app as its lead platform and have ports to the systems they've actually announced.

Expect the engine to be even further optimized: resolutions up to 1024x768 will be supported with 256 colors and even netbooks and iPads will run it at 60 fps. This time around they're eliminating the 3rd dimension because pirates just steal it anyway. You'll run to the right through exciting jungle, pirate, ninja, and fast food restaurant themed levels. Secret bonus levels scroll from bottom to top, instead of left to right, through a series of jumps ("maximum power").
