Extrapolating from the C1 to C2 changes, I suspect C3 will actually have a Facebook app as its lead platform and have ports to the systems they've actually announced.

Expect the engine to be even further optimized: resolutions up to 1024x768 will be supported with 256 colors and even netbooks and iPads will run it at 60 fps. This time around they're eliminating the 3rd dimension because pirates just steal it anyway. You'll run to the right through exciting jungle, pirate, ninja, and fast food restaurant themed levels. Secret bonus levels scroll from bottom to top, instead of left to right, through a series of jumps ("maximum power").

I hope there's a button I can click on to post to Facebook every time I finish a level.

Bows still have draw weights...so strength does factor in. If my bow is set at a 60LB weight I doubt my wife can pull it back as far as I can.

Edit! - just noticed before when we were discussing that you referring to compound bows. We can stop this silly discussion then :)

Yeah, umm, compound bow, you can either pull it, or you can't. There is no pulling it back farther. Once the cams roll over, the weight drops off to the holding weight (a fraction of the draw weight) and you've pulled the bow back. You either can, or you can't. If you can't, you can't shoot the bow. If you can, it works exactly like it works for anyone else using that particular bow with those particular settings.

Yeah, umm, I know. I didn't catch that he was referring to compound bows at the time, hence the "Edit".

"So... some people like the jungle of crysis 1. Others like the city of crysis 2. I know, lets combine them so no-one's happy!"

Eh.. well the CEO said in their statement about the game that it's going to play like Crysis 1 in the world of Crysis 2 but it's been overgrown with forest. But the level design will be open/true sandbox like Crysis 1 was.

they said theres 7 areas. I'm suspecting each one is wide open, where as with Crysis 2, it was semi-open but still fairly linear.

After playing a whole 20 minutes total since I've owned Crysis 2 I'm gonna pass on 3. I played 1 and warhead all the way through and even enjoyed the mp. 2 felt like a call of duty with better graphics.

2 was a dissapointment compared to the others but wasn't that bad IMO. played on it's own merits i mean. the really annoying thing that knocks the game down a few for me are the parts where you lose control of your character and are forced to walk through scripted scenes. ok for the 1st time you've played the game but not after.

e.g the bit where you get (i think) armour and are forced to uncloak and be shot at. i'd buy crysis 2 if it was on steam and on sale.

I actually liked the single-player campaign quite a bit. Your suit had more power and thus there were more options available to you in clearing areas, especially with the nano-spore upgrades. You could run across entire areas in stealth mode and pick off enemies without uncloaking, for example, and the armor mode actually made you feel like you were more durable as opposed to just serving as a second health bar. It was incredibly satisfying to march straight toward a Ceph Devastator with your armor engaged, blast it apart with an unmounted machine gun, and come out of the duel with a good portion of your energy intact. You were slower and weaker than in the first game, but overall I thought that Crysis 2 did a better job of making you feel like a total bad-ass.

I agree with you when it came to multiplayer, however. The amazing graphics and presence of suit powers didn't do enough to separate it from Call of Duty. Meh.

OK, FYI the bit where people are suggesting that the bow should enable kills while cloaked, this shouldn't be possible according to how the suit works in both Crysis 1 & 2.

The cloak spreads to weapons (so you don't see a Scar floating 4ft off the ground) due to their proximity to the suit. The suit runs out of energy and disengages cloak mode when you fire a weapon because the suit attempts to cloak the bullets leaving the gun - which it doesn't have enough power or range to do. Despite this, this is what it attempts to do anyway until the bullet is out of range and has drained all of the suit's energy. Which is why you immediately come out of cloak when you fire a weapon while cloaked.

That's why a bow and arrow in stealth mode won't work. If it does then it's ignoring the lore they setup in the first two games... but that hasn't stopped them before.

Someone remind me again why a bow is necessary when there are a plethora of silenced assault rifles, handguns, and sniper rifles available to this multi-billion-dollar-suit-wearing ultra warrior from the future?

What if he's firing a tungsten arrow from a carbon nanotube bow that requires 4000N of draw force resulting in a weapon that fire silently and with as much force as a tank round? :awe:

It might be fun. And you might be able to collect the ammo afterwards.

Chillax bro.

What? What does that even mean?

I ran through Crysis with silenced weapons galore and more ammo then I knew what to do with. It just looks like a dumb, gimmicky design choice, albeit not a game-breaking one.

Someone voicing displeasure or questioning design direction on a forum doesn't mean they need to "chillax". It is, after all, why we're on here, I would think.

Unfortunately your opinion has already been voiced multiple times throughout the thread, so are you going to contribute anything to the table or not? :awe:

Their metal exoskeleton armor, rocket launchers, railguns and vulcan cannons are no match for my bow and arrow and creative use of lens flare!
