Well Origin is a huge piece of crap. I got the email from AMD with Crysis 3 code and added the game to Origin and downloaded it. I loaded it up and set my settings up then went to take care of a few things.

Came back and restarted Origin and the game has disappeared from my game list and I can't launch C3 now because it's not activated on my Origin account. Haha, sad failure from EA....

Might as well download a crack if I want to play.

Maybe it's like when PhysX detects an AMD card it disables. Your AMD game code is detecting those 680's. 😛

Anyone feel the Digital Deluxe edition is worth 20 bucks over the Hunter Edition? Both are full versions of the game, correct? The Deluxe just gives you Three weapons from day one, a bonus skin and a soundtrack? And Crysis 2 maximum edition. I already have Crysis 2.
 
Im sorry but have you seen the price of Crysis 3? £35 online and £40 in store!

Since when do PC games cost this much? I paid £22 for Dishonoured £22 for Skyrim!

There is no Sony or Microsoft Fees to pay on PC so why are we paying console prices?

Take the piss EA and i promise ill pirate every game you make from now on!

Is openly talking about piracy worthy of an infraction? I sure hope it is.

Besides which, games are cheaper now than they ever have been. I remember SNES games games regularly sold for 74.99$-84.99$ *new* in the 90s. Now they are cheaper, costing 49.99-59.99 if you buy new and often times, much cheaper than even that; on top of this game production costs are 30-40 times higher than they were even 10 years ago. If games had followed inflation over the prior two decades, they would easily cost 150$+ now, but they don't. You really have no leg to stand on.

Regardless, whether you like the price or not that is not justification for openly discussing piracy - talking about obtaining software illegally isn't looked on kindly around here. Go away.

Not that many games started out that high on the SNES if you consider how many were released. Sure you could find quite a few examples, but in comparison to the masses, they aren't a good sample or close to the average. The norm was $49.99.

I dont know what country you live in but here in the UK games arent the cheapest they have ever been.

£40 for a PC game is a disgrace. I paid £22 for a game only a couple of months ago brand new on launch day.

I Guess your American since your talking about $? Doesnt your constitution protect free speech? SO let me guess blackened your a typical hypocritical US citizen which thinks he can tell people what to do whilst doing it yourself? i wonder how much pirated software you have on your pc? 🙄

You are completely wrong on this one. Those prices were the norm. Street Fighter 2 was 74.99 MSRP on release, Chrono Trigger was 79.99$. Final Fantasy 3 on release was also 84.99$ MSRP. Every store had it for that price including Toys R Us, Babbages, Software Etc, and Electronics Boutique. The only games that ever sold for 49.99 new were either used or heavily discounted from being old, no new SNES games were that cheap, the cheapest were 59.99$ for the absolute bargain bin titles. Most were more expensive, a lot more expensive.

Those prices were the norm. I can think of dozens of additional examples. You either weren't around then or just basing your post on false assumptions. SNES games were more expensive than modern games are, easily.

Aside from this, there is no excuse for open discussion of obtaining software illegally here. It isn't allowed.

Yet again you talk total rubbish.

Dishonoured was £22 with 20% VAT so that is $28.5 and i have NEVER paid more than £30 for a PC game which is $38.75
 
Game is a system killer, usually around 50fps with maxed settings and using SMAA, but for the first time since Crysis 1 the performance hit is justified by the visuals :thumbsup:

How's the level design? Please tell me it isn't like crysis 2 and more like Crysis 1 / warhead.
 
I didn't really like crysis 2. Visuals were great but gameplay ..meh. same monster and alien crap. After playing through all the dead space games I'm sick of aliens.

Besides, if you don't want to spend 40-60 bucks on a game don't buy it. Wait for it.to drop price. For me, last I looked at a $40 dollar game was a couple months back. Checked recently and its around half price now.

From what I played through, which was just the first hour or so, it's much more open. If you're expecting C1/WH sandbox freedom though, you'll be disappointed. If you want more freedom than Crysis 2 gave though, you'll get that. Levels are a lot bigger, less linear and it does have a similar feel to C1/WH where you can approach each area differently to get to the end goal.

The game is a lot better than Crysis 2, visually and gameplay wise, I can say that 100%. The game is fun and worth getting imo. The bow gameplay is awesome and it has different bolts you can use; explosive, shocking, etc. NPC AI is intelligent and well done like the first Crysis as well. I agree with the above that the alien areas of all the Crysis games have been crap and feel like a step down from the human AI. I'm sure at some point in C3 you get to aliens again...


The first area when you start playing is just killer. Looks amazing and immediately I was thinking, shit my computer is getting hammered, 30-35FPS. After that first area it improves quite a bit though and frames go up. Crysis 3 has dethroned Crysis 1/Warhead in the visual department as well, big time. The NPC modelling is the best I have ever seen and the lighting/shadows are just incredible.
 
Good looking game, but the gameplay itself is just bland and uninteresting. The AI is rather bad and my god, why do devs think we need MORE CUTSCENES.

Good for you, but PC games have consistently been more than that to start. Sure they come down with sales but I can't think of a AAA release title that didn't match the console 59.99 price point.

I'm going to wait for it to drop in price, but I'm not gonna complain and bitch about the price in a graphics thread. GL pirating it.
