100+ heat indexes for you too eh?

I got my 6950 doing better, I had undervolted 20%, I raised that to 12% and its doing better, Ill double check the number, but the heat is only up a few C, still under 80, and running at close to stock clock

~285 MHash 75C, 10% undervolted, stock 800mhz clock

-v -w64 -f90(its my HTPC)

I ran mine at 1v, 725 memory, 840 core, fan at 70% and temps steady at 62C. The flags -v -w128 - f15 giving a 330Mhash/sec. That was for mining only, I found that the system would freeze if I do anything else at the same time, but if I raise the voltage to 1.050v I don't have any problems.

Ok so I have dipped my feet into the bitcoin waters and I fear I am a little lost lol.

I have done what OP suggested and setup BitCoin, GUIMiner, and a pool account with bitcoin.cz.

I am using the rig in my sig and am generating 86.1 Mhash/s. I have no flags setup and my GPU is running at 92C(!). I tried to put the -s flag into GUIMiner and even set it for -s 15.0 and still no difference is seen. Am I doing something wrong here? I don't think my GPU will take running that hot for very long lol.

With my current setup @ the current rate, is it even worth me continuing to pursue this?

wow.

you use afterburner? trixx?

No, not unless you get free electricity. I am not familiar with nvidia's control panel and such, but with AMD video cards you can manually increase the fan speed to deal with the heat and keep the card at a manageable temperature. If you do decide to continue mining with your nvidia card, you should look into that. But it is probably a net loss after cost of electricity, unless yours is free.

Yeah, Trixx is not the best of apps for overclocking. I heard the new version allows overclocking and overvolting independently, but every version up until now only allowed you to set all of your cards at 1 setting. And in the case of my 6970s, my PCS+ would BSOD @ 1.3v but my Flashed 6950 2GB required the 1.3v to run at 940 mhz to match the PCS+' stock speeds, so I was in a bind. And if I used Afterburner Battlefield Bad company 2 would crash, so I was stuck using the AMD CCC which only let me run both cards at 840 mhz since thats all a 6950 will OC to in the CC, and in Crossfire both cards will downclock to the slowest card of course, performance wise.

No Bit coin today
Way Too Hot
Its gonna reach 37 c today........ sheesh
MY Central A/C having hard time keeping up
Time to call back up infantry
Nothing beets couple of 10 Ton Portable A/C
Come on SUN Bring it ON!

You can get a profit of 1/2 invested money in electricity bill as its best in US. Meaning for each 100 bucks spent in electricity you get 50$. Thats 30€ of each 100 in electricity in my country because electricity is rated at 0.18€ kWh. With a 5850 running the whole day at its best it's 20€/month. I won't blast my card for such a low amount and ofc wont invest 120€ in a crossfire and wait for 5 months to break even.

Sorry but this is only for US ppl in states with low electricity rates.

Do most of you not have air conditioning? I am interested in the fiat currency aspect of this technology and the way it almost evolves into a direct exchange of GPU once a level of money has been hit. Sort of like a caste system.

I had to remind myself I was reading a post on a forum about electronic video cards.

lol

I need to clean my condensor I think, its seemed a bit stressed with a few miners running

I do !
Heck! I have 3 A/C units
One central A/C it can only fight 10c degree difference
Now my portable A/C can easily fight 30 c 80 % duty Cycle
With that much of cooling efforts being put then I come around and
Run computer which blowing HOT air like 52 c sheeeh I feel guilty ;(

you have to enable the the second graphics card by "extending desktop" in Windows? I can't believe I forgot.

I sat at my 2nd rig for 2 hrs today plugging and unplugging the damn dummy plug I made. I even cleaned the resistors with IPA fearing bad connection. LOL. Dumb me -_-

I should be closing in on 1ghash now

dude, when you said you have 2 ten-ton portables you entered the realm of 'damn, son just doesn't understand things'.

Get you some a/c, profit!

as long as i dont see them above 85c i feel i am fine . hottest one today was 75c from what i see with putty.

wonders what have i gotten myself in to , knows full well i will faint when i see the electric bill . maybe i will plead insanity when they take me to court
