It is private property, they can do what they want. Sad that people feel they need to have a firearm everywhere. I totally support gun rights, but this is just nuts. I have a friend who works IT and he does concealed carry at work, imo I think he is just being overly paranoid. And for those who will cite being going postal, how often does that really happen? More than 99% of people will go their entire lives never being in such a situation.
I've never needed a seat belt or an air bag, remove them from cars.Terrible line of thinking. Last time I researched it, close to 90% of the police officers on the street will never ever need their firearm. So lets disarm the police too!
And if for example, a person that didn't follow the law were to arrive at the work site armed. That person started shooting people and the guards there were unarmed, the people would have no defense. Kind of like the Norway shootings.
But if the guard was armed, he might be able to save people by injuring/killing the gunman. If employees were armed, there's a better chance the gunman would be stopped.
I know you're supposed to be a resident funny guy or something around here.... are you trying to make a joke? If you are i don't get it...... i'll say it again...... THERE ARE LAWS AGAINST SHOOTING PEOPLE.
I'm not sure how much more plainly I can put it.....there is a consequence of possible jail time for shooting someone....you can even lose your right to legally own a firearm for brandishing it in a threatening manner...... so by using my powers of deduction, nobody will do it, ergo no need for "armed guards".
And hey, listen: if someone has a lapse of judgement and decides to shoot someone..... instead of having an armed citizen or hired guard around to possibly stop the criminal, we can pass another law that will SURELY prevent it from happening again.
Actually wanting to bring a firearm to work means you are either paranoid to the point you should seek counseling or have a nasty trick up your sleeve. I can't picture any reason one would need a gun at work. Are customers THAT hard to deal with? 😛
And if they don't, a press of a button will magically contact forces to protect us!(unlike when the 2nd amendment was created)
I second the motion....
You're an idiot, shadow9d9.

Because Police officers immediately materialize out of nowhere the INSTANT you dial 911. 🙄
"When seconds count, the police are only minutes away."

Live by the sword. die by the sword. It's kinda satisfying that so many Americans love guns and so many get killed by them. There's a nice bit of Darwinism in action right there.
Relevance to armed security being banned from a workplace is...where, exactly?
If they have this magical button why are they uncomfortable with armed professionals being around, after all they have the magical po-po teloport cloner ver. 5-0 button.
If one of the armed guards got out of hand couldn't they just press it?(unlike when the 2nd amendment was created)
The fact that americans think they NEED armed security...
The chances of being attacked are incredibly low..

Ad hominem to opposition.
