What i wonder is, why didn't you just move one house down to park if they were angry? I understand public vs. private property, but if people parked in front of my house all the time i'd be upset if they didn't ask if it's ok out of common courtesy. Some neighbor used to park their car outside my parent's home all the time and it was a pain to visit my parents because my car would block my dad's car in the driveway and i'd have to move out for him to get out to get to work. I would like to think that my parents and myself would get precedence to park there over anyone else.

read the post. this neighborhood get's packed with street parking. it was the only place to park. this is pretty common where college students live. and in well...most neighborhoods where i live.

Awesome PWNAGE!!! :thumbsup::laugh:

See, calling the cops was the best thing to do. Not only does it get these nutballs off your back but it may get them to ease off other people they've probably done this to as well.

i think this deserves the thread of the month award. cops, pictures, and audio! the only way it could get better is if jessica alba came over and started pole dancing with it.

Just slip a note under their door with your phone number and talk it out. I remember a revenge thread over at SA that ended VERY badly.
details?
That sounds like the one where the neighbor was stealing cable from him. He disconnected it. They reconnected it. He disconnected it. They reconnected it. He disconnected it and plugged it into an electrical socket. Their house burned down.

Ouch

No, I remember it was the house next door to the people he was targeting, it was unoccupied I think.

Yup, that's the thread, and the police/firemen had the whole thread as evidence.

 Links?

Don't know the link.. and it might be archived because it's kinda old. You'd have to have archive access probably.

I searched and couldn't find any links, so I may not have my story quite right. All I know is that a house ended up burning down.

I read that whole thread and IIRC it was a total coincidence that the house across the street burned down. He'd been trying to zap the neighbors behind his house who were stealing cable. The one that burned was in a different location, had completely isolated electrical circuits, and was also abandoned. I think all the OP got was being scared shtless for a few hours and legendary internet status.

Mental: Briefcase ain't here, they must've taken it with them.
J.P. Shay: Well, he's gotta come home sometime.
Mental: Maybe we should trash the place, send them a little message.
J.P. Shay: [looks around] I don't think he's gonna get that message Joe, I mean, the guy's got worms in his living room.

Well....you should press charges. Not because of the glue, but because they are racist.
I was thinking the same thing. This turned into a cash cow for you. By them saying "white trash" they are infringing on your civil rights. Call Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Oh wait, stupid me, I forgot, only white people can be racists in America.
I don't think this thing was about race, unless CRAZY has become a new race. :p

Great audio and great story OP. I think you handled it extremely well and were the better person. You deserve a .

ToeKramp,
I applaud your level-headedness. It's not worth getting in the mud with these pigs.

Just calling the cops and confronting them personally and by letter should serve enough to put them on notice.

As regards to the glue, a bodyshop will have a chemical compund that should take the glue off. It should be free or nearly free. My car had some paint on it when it hit a painted pole when I was parking it. The body shop had some miracle stuff that left it like new!

If it makes you feel any better, years ago some asshat illegally parked across from me in a really tight squeeze carport. It was jet dark and raining heavily (0 visibility). I could barely manage to get the car out and ended up denting my side against the wall ($2k damage). To this day I have the dent, since I didn't want to pay the deductible on my older car. That day, I was so pissed off! I aggressively addressed the issue with people/management involved, but it didn't do my car any good. At the end of the day, it's just stuff. It is what it is. These clusterfvck things are bound to happen at some point.

All you can do is address the issue professionally and then move on with your life. It's their problem if they obsess over silly things and give you a sneer from now on. Laugh it off. :D

Finally the cop walked them down to the front of their yard and said "Do you see this curb?? This is where your property ends and where public property begins. Where HE can park." They were not having it.

In most municipalities the city owns the sidewalk and the boulevard, too. The property owners are usually responsible for maintaining these city-owned (public) areas. It might be fun to look this up and see if that's the case in this city - even more areas the b1tchy ladies don't own.

Probably from some festering sh-t hole ala Hmong refugees and the Minnesota hunting incident.
Wisconsin, not Minnesota.

And that ignorant generalization has, what, to do with this thread?
One poster asked what Asian country they might have come from where they don't understand the concept of private v. public property rights. I gave an example of the Hmong because they are notorious for either having no concept of or don't give a damn about private property rights in hunting lands, so much that various states had to hire liasons to go into the Hmong communities and educate them about local customs, regs, and private property issues (even though they already were well aware of them, the same Hmong hunters have been cited numerous times or ejected from the same private property over and over).

Questions?
