Could you beat a wolf in a fight with your bare hands?

I reckon I could. I have been doing some good work down the gym recently so my strong shoulders would give me an edge.

I reckon it could hinge on the surroundings. If it was in Yellowstone Park then it would be a struggle, but if it was near where I live I would have the advantage. I know all the alleys and roads so could be all sneaky.

I reckon almost anyone could, if they were willing to take some damage. I think shoving your fist down their throat oughta 'bout do it. Then you'd have to face the rest of the Pack.

You have only one chance, hit it at the skull or nose so hard you can knock it unconscious. If that will not happen, you will be ripped apart. You may live but will take a lot of tissue damage. Especially the soft parts first...😱

My friend was walking through a secluded area here in OC (much of our county backs up to wilderness), and he was suddenly attacked from behind by 3 coyotes. They nipped his ankle and he went to the ground instantly.

Luckily he is one of those survivalist nutters and had a knife on his waist. As two of them started to take little nibbles on his legs, he shoved the blade up through the lower jaw of one of the coyotes, and it ended up inside the brain, killing it rather instantly.

I would have called BS on the story, but we were all waiting for him, and he showed up with bite marks and a bloody/hairy knife. Moral of the story: Even pussy canines like Coyotes can be dangerous.

Is his name John Locke?

Anyone who has worked training attack Dobermans or German Shepherds know their vunrabilities. The varous places on a dog that are not protected and can cause extreme pain. There are also ways to grab, hold, choke out, and disable a dog that are not humain, but effective.

Interesting, can you tell us how or provide a link ?

I know that when in the vicinity of water, force the dog under water and keep it under. But that is easier said then done.

a wolf is much faster than a human. it would immediately sink its teeth into an appendage like your arm or genitals, you would scream in pain and then it would rip your guts out. a wolf is a lot bigger than the average domestic dog, has much larger teeth and is much more aggressive

Yeah but if I crouch down just as the wolf jumps at me I can grab it by it's legs and swing it around. I would be using it's weight against it.

Luckily for me i have a long flexible tail with a spiny point and that is armored with an exoskeleton.
Venom glands in my lower arms and lower part of the legs.
Exoskeleton alike coverings over my lower arms with spikes that i can fold back in rest position or raise up to inject venom similar as jelly fish can do.
The exoskeleton alike coverings on my lower legs have the same ability.
My abdomen are covered with tissues similar to that of the electric eel. Capable of producing large electric shocks.
The inside of my lower arms contain a retractable hollow spike that allow me to inject venom or squirt it towards my opponent.
I have a more efficient ATP cycle giving me for a short time 9 times average male human strength.
Bone structure is carbon nanotube based.
Greater vision : IR , UV and in between and polarization.
Hearing is greater, ears and body work as one ear.
The upper part of my arms and my thighs have a thickened skin tissue not unlike kevlar.
My shoulders and part of my back are also covered in exoskeleton. As is the backside of my skull made up of fused carbon nanotubes. Giving me a strong but light skull. I have no real eyes. More a developed visor.

Yeah, i am ready... 😎 Bring them on !

And then i woke up out of my day dream and screamed while i had a near death experience : The hairy chihuahua of my friends nibbled my finger...:'(

If wolves were so easy to defend against no one would be afraid of them. Hopefully you never find out and get to continue to live in your blissful world of shoulder-press solitude.

You definitely could.

A wolf is really not very different from a large dog. It will jump you, and lock its jaws on something. If that something is an arm/leg, you basically have at least one from arms to either choke it, or to hit it in the throat/head.

Of course there's a decent change it would inflict enough damage so that you later die of blood loss ....

Anyway, there's a reason why wolves attack in packs to bring down prey, which is that individually, they're not nearly as powerful as some of the larger predators.

No I don't think so but I've always wondered if I could take a dog in a fight. I'd have to probably use my left forearm sacrificially, but if you get in close and wrestle the dog, their claws are not terribly sharp. They'd definitely hurt but not like a cougar's. Then if you can choke it out the only real weapon it has is its neck.

Probably to be honest I'd be like most people attacked by a dog, piss myself and be a little bitch. Just like most of the people in this thread would do 😉

Is your friend Jack Bauer?

I don't think I'd like to try. I carry a knife in unsafe places, and if I lived near wolves, I'd definitely consider that unsafe, but that wouldn't be unarmed. Even with a knife or machete it would be scary as shit, though I think I could win in that case.

no, i would die. i am too old/fat/no cardio, i'd gas out in 5 seconds and it'd rip my throat out

wolves are 10000 times stronger than us. i am confident i would die a horrible death to a wolf. i know how to fight against wild animals, particularly dogs, but still, no dog is anything like a wolf.
