I want him to post a picture of his car. $5 says it has tinted windows all around and looks just like a drug car.

With only a tiny bit of effort, this post can be a LOT more readable!

Got pulled over on my way to work, was at a light and the cop was behind me. Had the windows down smoking a cig, the radio was at volume 27/60. I asked why i was pulled over, and he said my music was to loud and it smells like weed in my vehicle ( i have smoked in my car but it hasn't been for over 8 weeks), i apoligized and was very polite. He then asks me if i have any narcotics in the car, i said no, he asked if i can search i said no im on my way to work (which i was) and he comes back and says your vehicle smells like weed ( damn cloth) and my music was talking about selliing cocaine how do i know theirs no narcotics in the car if im not aloud to search he says i said youll just have to trust me officer any other time your more then welcome to search my car just not now as i'll be late to work. He was furious and called for a K9 unit.

20 minutes later the K9 comes and rips my car apart, made me take out my 2 12's in my trunk which was also searched, and continued taring my car apart. After another 25 minutes (im now 45 mins late to work) he finds nothing except an old crumbled up joint paper he lets me go with what he called a warning and i was off to work.

My music got him so suspicious it had him search my car? the car does not smell like weed, it smells like ciggs and mens cologne.

Here is the song i had playing if anyone is curious

Yeah, but it still needs some work...

How do I know there are no narcotics in the car if I'm not allowed to search?". I said, "You'll just have to trust me, officer. Any other time you would be more than welcome to search my car. This an exception as I would be late to work. He was furious and called for a K9 unit.

Don't forget to use the correct tense and have subjects in your sentences, Heller.

That quote is paramount to our ideals though; it captures them very well.

Hate is, unfortunately, subjective. It's easy to hide hate behind a belief. These people believe that homosexuals are wrong, or whatever their deal is. They hate them. That isn't against the law, shouldn't be against the law and will hopefully never be against the law.

We do have a special class of hate related crimes called "hate crimes" that garner more attention and more severe punishment than their "regular crime" counterpart. Hate is viewed as a negative thing overall, but unless you act on it.. it's an opinion.

Obviously, the vast majority of Americans don't agree with the WBC, and infact think they're a bunch of lunatics. But they're entitled to their opinion.

This really ties in with the whole laws thing. If you take away free speech, along with "the law is the law", then what? You have no voice, you're almost not a person. You essentially have no freedoms left. You're wholly at the whim of another entity...what you do, what you say..

That's scary, even to you, I imagine. :p

I'm not saying take away free speech, I'm saying take away peoples ability to spread hate. Why do are the WBC entitled to they're opinion when they are spreading hate? I don't think that hate is subjective, if you have hate crimes then it must be definable what hate is.

Free speech is good, free speech for everyone no matter what they say or what they spread isn't good, it's dangerous.

The difference is, they aren't spreading "hate." They're spreading a difference of opinion in a rather forcible fashion. The moment the government disallows them the right to do that, they are in effect restricting their right to religion of their choosing, thereby controlling the people. Personally, I would like to see a new religion that goes against the beliefs of the WBC and pickets their deaths and the like to give them a taste of their own medicine. Problem is, they have beliefs that can be viewed as valid to some, but they simply choose to be dicks about it.

Wow.

Popular thread.

In all seriousness, avoiding the obvious trollage that the OP is......

1. Cop pulls you over, either put the volume EXTREMELY low, or flip on some Simon and Garfunkel.

2. Put out your cig. It is generally disrespectful to seem like you are just humoring the cop when they pull you over.

3. Go Wally and the Beav on the guy. "Sorry officer, how can I help you sir?". NO SARCASM!

4. Just don't drive a cheap arse hamster car with a muffler that is worth more than a weeks salary (before taxes).

5. If they ask to search, show no hesitation and let them. They really do not WANT to search, but your reluctance will make them more suspicious.

6. Don't be an ass. The cop probably knew the best he could do in this fictional case would be to find an unsmoked joint in the car, but saying you would be late for work and giving him attitude made him want to keep you as long as he could.

Anyway, I cannot believe that this got this many responses in this little time.

Shens?

I kinda skipped after page 2, has anyone oficially called Shens yet?

I just can't understand why letting the police search your car is such a massive issue..! If you're not committing a crime then what's the problem? And if the answer is "it's the principle of the thing" then feel free to sit at the side of the road with the police for 45 minutes while they get a warrant, search your car and find nothing just to prove a point. It just seems like a futile, childish act stopping the police doing they're job if you have nothing to hide.

I.e. No! My CAR MY CAR MY CAR WAAA!

Also I never said the police can search what they want in the UK, they can search your car though.

What would you consider unreasonable search? At what point will you say "I'm not committing any crimes but this is absurd!". Will you let them search your house with just asking? Collect DNA? Fingerprints? Search your porn stash? Computer? Brain? Would you let them search your ass? I mean you have nothing to hide right?

Are you 100% sure you know every law and are breaking none of them? Here's a tip, everyone is breaking a law right now. There are so many laws it is just a matter of figuring out which one you are breaking. So everyone has something to hide.

Perfect example. I carry a pocket knife with me all the time. It is 100% legal in my state and I bought it at a retail store. I've carried this thing with me every single day for years. I just found out that in the state I work in I've been committing a felony! Apparently because my knife has a assisted opening lever (it does not spring open) I can go to jail and be fined! I never thought to look up the knife laws on a 1 inch folding blade I carry to open boxes. Let the cops search thinking I have nothing to hide and go to jail.... sounds reasonable...

$600 TRD exhaust is far from rice.

So.. either you're an idiot... or you overpaid.

The TRD exhaust for a tC is $300 and change.

tCTRD&

and on a tC ... the TRD exhaust is much more sound for its price than any degree of performance... so yes.. 100% RICE

I guess you didn't get the bottom line from the thread you created about this subject in P&N: Like it or not in the US freedom of speech is protected by the 1st amendment of the Constitution. Don't like it then don't read messageboards based in places not subject to the UK's arbitrary definitions of what constitutes "hate speech". WBC is entitled to their odious opinions by whatever created/evolved them same as any other human being. The 1st amendment simply reinforces that for anyone living in the United States.

If you put off the persona of a druggie, you are going to get hastled by the cops. Once I wised up I haven't had a run in with an officer since.
