Feels like Harris and others should probably be in prison.

I'd say NC has a great reason to start running certain republicans out of office too. Utterly despicable what these shameless hypocrites are trying to pull. They howl and act insulted when others note white republicans turning their back on democracy over feels, yet here they are proving those people 100% correct.

I'm impressed with the members of the Board of Elections-including those from the GOP. They stood up to the powers that be and forced this issue to come to the forefront, despite every barrier put up in front of them by the state government and even the courts.

It's sad to say, but it really is a thrill to be when I find an old fashioned GOP pol who believes in democracy and honest elections. Next thing you know we will find one that is concerned about the deficit. Maybe someday one that actually cares about average Americans. One can only hope.

As David Frum said

If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.

I think that describes the N Carolina GOP reasonably well.

The balls on this fucking guy.

Yesterday holding back from crying, son gets up on stand and says his dad knew about this, they exchanged emails about it, and says that didn't want to be involved in it and his dad shouldn't be either. *Presents emails*.

Today: Dad gets on stand: I don't really remember these messages and my son is judgmental and a little arrogant at times.

Fuck that guy. Guess who's not getting a fathers day gift this year.

You mean they are shocked they are the real perpetrators of voter fraud? This is way more effective then having a few minorities show up to the polls with fake names.

So when is Trump going to revive that voter fraud commission and send them to N. Carolina??

Now Republican candidate is asking for new election. But it's not up to him. Ok North Carolina - just how corrupt are you?

Hmm...a three month old thread and not one righty has bothered to comment?

I'd point out their inconsistency on voter fraud but we all knew from the beginning that their concern was complete bullshit.

Cognitive dissonance is a powerful thing.

I'll wait with everyone else for the usual posters who support laws which are designed to disenfranchise voters to stop in and condemn this. How long do you guys suspect we'll be waiting? Follow up question, next time a voter fraud or ID thread comes up, with these same posters address this debacle when brought to their attention?

Also of interest here is that the people trying to steal the elections did it exactly the way liberals told the voter ID brigade that people would. Shockingly, the answer to stealing an election wasn’t to recruit a horde of voters to disguise themselves as other voters and vote twice, it was for a small number of people to fuck with absentee ballots.

It’s almost as if their concern was not genuine.

Election fraud is much more pervasive and nuanced than outright voter fraud. Anyone involved in this should be banned from any sort of public service or involved in any election process for the rest of their life.

death would work. No politician in their right mind would do something calculated that has a penalty of death. Death penalty isnt a deterrent to violent crime because a lot of times that is heat of the moment stuff. Election fraud is calculated and adding the death penalty into the mix changes the calculations.

the penalty for attempting to become king in the roman republic was death. those romans had everything figured out. except that armies shouldn't be paid by the generals from the spoils of war. that's a pretty big thing to miss.

I wonder if this could have been prevented if Republicans devoted half the resources to election integrity that they spend on trying to prevent black people from voting in the name of election integrity.
I would give you 10 thumbs up

This is why the Heller case was such a travesty. States that had a history with kind of nonsense had to pre-clear any proposed changes to the voting rules.

You could never get away with the kind of "voter fraud" they claim to be concerned about. Not a sufficient number to ever matter. A person or two, sure. But what happens when 5 buses show up at a polling station and 100 recently immigrated Mexicans who can barely speak a word of English get in line?

If you really wanted to screw with an election, there are clearly more effective ways to do it. As the GOP just demonstrated.

I’ve always thought the same in person voter fraud is excessively complicated
Let’s assume a person has a list of people & addresses that are guaranteed to not show up to vote. This is crazy complicated but we’ll assume there is some sort of method that nobody has figured out.
You have to wait at least 10 minutes between parking, getting in line to have a ballot, voting, then heading back to your car. You have to average at least 15 minutes per location. Thats 2 votes per hour, we’ll bump that up to 3 because the fraudster has an absolute perfect plan. Voting is open for 12 hours. Thats 36 votes.
Aweful lot of work to cast 36 votes. Makes no sense when mail in votes could result in hundreds of votes.
