I'm going with they will until they don't, but then "reconciliation" may raise its ugly head and that is not acceptable these days.I feel like from the text of the article they are saying pretty clearly they won't.
Have the GOP explained yet how this is the Democrats fault?
It is awfully quiet. Can't quite place my finger on why...Why haven't the brainless MAGA zealots swarmed into this thread to defend these treacherous acts?
Seems like the Republican congressional candidate sought out the unscrupulous individual now at the center of the allegations, despite warnings that he was a shady character:

Walter McDuffie, the chairman of the Bladen County Republican Party, told The Washington Post that he warned the Harris campaign about Dowless’s criminal record, which includes felony convictions for fraud and perjury and a misdemeanor charge for passing a worthless check in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Days before North Carolina’s board of elections could vote to call a new race between Harris and Democrat Dan McCready in the state’s disputed 9th Congressional District, Republican lawmakers passed a bill requiring a new primary when the board rules a campaign must be run over again. That would give Republican voters the ability to sideline Harris in a special election, after accusations of illegal collection and manipulation of absentee ballots by McCrae Dowless, an operative hired by Harris campaign consultants.
Now this smacks of something not quite kosher:

Damn, NC Repubs, like most Repubs it seems these days, have no shame.
Yet, when it comes to all other voting rules we get there "too close to the election, must not change now."Now this smacks of something not quite kosher:

Always great when the status quo is exclusionary and they justify it as "too late to do anything now," knowing that the unfairness of the system will perpetuate the unfair status quo.Yet, when it comes to all other voting rules we get there "too close to the election, must not change now."
The House will not be seating the representative-elect in question according to the incoming majority leader:

Can someone explain why the court dismissed the election board? I read a NYT article that was pretty long, but never really said why.
^^^ bolded:The election board was only mandated to exist until Jan 1, iirc. They wanted to extend their tenure as did the governor, but the court ruled there was no basis to do so. The GOP legislature then changed the law so that the governor couldn't appoint a new board until Feb 1, taking the heat off for awhile. They also made it so that a new election would also have a new primary, paving the way for Harris to be replaced by another Repub in the general election, somebody who doesn't bear the taint of this imbroglio.

So they made this so they get to have a mulligan because their dirty guy got caught?
How can that even be legal? Is someone with any integrity looking to file a lawsuit about that redo with another candidate?
Of course it's not legal.
....oh yeah, remember when we needed to repeal half of the Voting Rights Act because "it wasn't needed?" lol--this is that test--and what the GOP had been salivating for.
Let's see if the law steps in and beats my redneck brethren into the curb for this malfeasance. I won't hold my breath...
