What do you think will be the best RPGs and what do you guys think will have the most subscribers by the end fo 2008? 2009?
I predict a lot of people will leave WoW to try these new games but WoW will remain the biggest RPG by the end of 2008. The reasons people will leave WoW will be becuase of the lack of end-game content(other than raiding) and lack of true massive PvP battles that actually mean something in the game. WoW will remain strong by the end of 2009 but will lose at least half their subscribers by then, partly because the next expansion will render everyone's gear useless again and it will piss everyone off.
I think Warhammer will have a larger crowd than Age of Conan simply because it has a much larger fanbase from the previous DAoC crowd than the Anarchy Online crowd. However, looking very similar to WoW gameplay will hurt rather than help them. I have no idea what Age of Conan gameplay will look like. While I don't think it'll be a WoW killer, I do think about 40% of WoW players will leave for either of these new games by this time next year.
