Am I the only guy who feels that the Mammoths are overpowered? Missile salvos and railguns own everything, including infantry, though they move and turn slow.

BTW juggernaut fires way too slow to be worthwhile especially compared to the Mammoths.

Yeah, I do feel they *are* overpowered...

The Nod Avatar Warmech seems a *little* overpriced....
 
Cool, I'll try out another skirmish on medium today.

It's been a few years since I was in my C&C prime in regards to the perfect build order, rushing, counterattacks, etc. But I think a few more tries and medium won't be too bad. Those fvcking NOD suicide infantry guys suck!

And what's with engineers not able to repair civilian buildings that you can garrison but become too damage? At the start of medium, I trained about 4-5 squads of riflemen and 4-5 missile squads ASAP to move them as far up to the civilian buildings in the center as possible. Garrisonned mixed infantry is excellent for keeping my base safe while I build up tech and resources. But it all gets destroyed pretty quickly from suicide guys and whatnot. I also try and get two predator tanks out ASAP so that they can move up and destory enemy garisson positions so my garrisonned buildings don't get busted up right away.

I think I should build a expansion base in the lower-right corner when I get built up to a tech center. When I noticed the computer doing that, it hurt me more since they had way more $$ and launched attacks through the center and from the top.


edit: I need to build more mammoths! I didn't realize they were so strong. In previous games, they were generally not worth the cost. And even here, they are very expensive, but seem almost unstoppable. I wonder if a single mammoth with railguns would win against two predator tanks with railguns? I would guess yes, though the mammoth is a little more than 2x the cost of a predator, but it might win by a larger margin to make the extra $300 worth it, but looks like it doesn't auto-heal until Elite.
 
I finished the skirmish on medium this morning. I only used the barracks to create 2 engineers, the rest of my builds were approx 12 Mammoths and 4 Juggernauts. Infantry seems so pointless...

missile guys are good.. but damn, NOD > infantry w/ flamers.
 
Shoot, in the second demo mission, I mopped up the floor with Nod with only 5 mammoth tanks. Didn't lose a single one, though I did pull one of them back for repairs.
 
man those suicide bombers drive me NUTS!

apc mines are a godsend, i put them everywhere i can to weaken warmechs before they get to me🙁


question about nod: i know they have stealth but is that a built-in starting feature that every armor unit has from the beginning or an upgrade that must be enabled?

They automatically have stealth enabled!

i thought so too until i realized the rifleman can build bunkers. those bunkers can take a massive beating and really deal out the damage too.

OP, you should add the filefront mod. I continually get speeds of 1.0mB/s+ from them.

I've gotten use to it I guess. Now it seems like one RTS games like to make it left click and it screws me up when I play another one 😛
 
I really like the demo so far, especially the fast load times. I'll probably buy the game when it comes out.

I finally figured out that I can use Pitbulls to detect stealth units. That really helps... I just build a couple and spread them throughout my base.
 
I don't like the demo so far. The units look shite, I have all settings turned up, and it just looks...meh. Maybe its easy, but I'm not having fun.

Have you played Tiberian Dawn or Tiberian Sun? If you haven't, maybe that's why its not fun! 😀

I've played both, and I've enjoyed both. But this isn't clicking.
 
Is there any way to remove the 30fps framecap in this? The game is fantastic, but this low framecap is getting on my nerves.
 
this thing runs pretty damn well too. it actually manages to run silky smooth on medium @ 1920x1200 on a modest 7600gt :Q

I don't know, don't play that many RTS games. I just remember the original c&c / red alert and it was all left click to move
 
I love it so far with the exception of one thing............

This game needs the ability to ZOOM out farther!!!

 
C&C 3 Demo was great ... but it was all I needed to get my C&C fix. If more friends buy it I would too ... but for now I'm going back to...

- World of Warcraft
- Company of Heroes - This feels like the exact opposite of SupComander ... spent time massing units and you will have lost.
- Battlefield 1942 (yup my friends and I still can't get enough of it + Plus it runs incredibly well on just about any hardware these days)
- Warcraft 3 / Starcraft (Same deal lots of RL friends rigs are a bit behind the times ... but
- Star Wars Battlefront 2
- Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
- CS:S / HL2😀M
