Manchester, NH has been upgraded. Getting 3.2 Mbps down. A friend on the other side of the state (Newmarket) also upgraded.

The first time I tried powercycling the modem, it didn't work. I only kept it off for 10-15 seconds. Comcast says to keep it off for one minute. Tried it their way and it worked.

Only got 1.4Mbps/254Kbps last night in Sunnyvale, Bay Area. Aren't we late now?

Not to offend you, or anyone else living in a smaller area, but WHY TF are you guys getting faster speeds before an area as large as the SF Bay? It just perplexes me...I mean, wouldn't Comcass want to take care of the larger markets first? That would seem logical to me...

Yeah, no doubt. "Let's start with speeding up the service in Eastern Alaska."

Your download speed : 2973843 bps, or 2973 kbps.
A 363 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 249034 bps, or 249 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

wow! technological advances in Grand Rapids, MI. The world is surely coming to an end...

I haven't tweaked my network settings yet. Who cares....alt.binaries.........:D

ya, nice someone in GR got updated, I'm so fed up with Comcast and their high prices and crappy speeds, think my bill is like $80 w/o cable, pfft. I'm looking elsewhere atm.

If you are having a slower connection or interrupted service of late. I would say that it is a good thing.

I was at 1/3 speed for over a week and then BAM! over 3mbps overnight.

I just got off the phone with support and they tell me this update is an update in service which actually costs more. $92/month compared to $58/month I'm paying now. So I guess for those getting more speed for free, lucky you, otherwise a big YMMV? :(

Hoffman estates (chicago) no change either.

They'll have to shoot me to release this ip and jump on the new crappy comcast nodes. I was on for a few minutes with a comcast host and I had tons of pl, a 700/60 connection (currently back on attbi with 1850/250 and little pl)... I hope they switch these attbi servers over, cause those new comcast ones are f**king s**t...

A few other people not too far from me reported the same problems, one talked with comcast and they told him that they know about the problems and are working on fixing it soon. So next year I'm guessing chicago will just be getting 3mbit and good connections again...

Does anyone have WOW in the Chicagoland area? I'm sure thinking about switching. Comcast is just costing TOO much now... I have had it every since it started in here in like 98 too. I'm sick of how they treat their customers as brainless morons that can't see what they are trying to do. Raise the price sky high for those of us who can't get DSL are stuck with them.

Your CSR was confused... he was probably talking about having to pay for the HSI-Pro upgrade they've been selling for a long time. As far as I know, this is an upgrade to their standard service, free of charge. I know it is in my area, with a business account, but I'd assume it's the same everywhere.

Still no change.

sigh.

I'd love to get WOW but they aren't available in Elmhurst (West Suburbs). A co-worker in Elgin has them and loves them.
