Looks like those dates slipped...

I am in Jersey and no upgrade yet :(

OTOH they just raised the rates for most of their services, and in the communication accompanying the rate increase they mention that they "had"(past tense or past perfect for that purpose!?) upgraded the service. Two CSRs I called had not even heard about this.

Oh well ;)

I'm about 10 miles from you and am still seeing about 1.5MB/s Did you need to reset your modem or anything to see the speed increase?

Got my 3mbit Adelphia here :) Competition is good, we just recently got hooked up with their new caps. Glad to see others raising speeds.

i was in the middle of a ftp download when it happened..my cable went out for like 2 mins..before it i was getting about 175k/sec on the d/l..after i started pulling 375k/sec...

your modem will go out by itself then reconnect

Nice speed... I'm thinking of switching from DSL now.

Does anyone know if Comcast block P2P?

Also, can I get cable internet even if I only subscribe to analog cable?

I was never notified of the upgrade, but stumbled across a comcast page explaining this upgrade while looking for info on the Comcast DVR system that's supposedly coming soon.

If you are supposed to have it but don't yet see an improvement, the instructions I had read a while back said to remove power from your cable modem for 60 seconds then plug it back in. When I did this my speed instantly went up, tested a few downloads and definitely saw the nice improvement in speed.

I guess it's possible you get the faster speed before the update is "pushed" to your modem? Worth a shot I suppose. Good luck.

They already did it in our area. I know one of the guys at our local office. Even if I didn't know him i can see it in my downloads.

Officially from him it will be (Ft. Wayne, IN market anyway):

Regular service:: 3.2 down / 256 up (no change)
(the upload came via the GTE buy out deal, since that is what they were on anyway)

Pro service:: 4.3 down / 384 up (no change)
(i'm on the pro and i am not real happy that they are not increasing the upload to be pefectly honest)

croak I am seriously thinking of backing off of pro too. With no change in upload.

noxxic They don't block any p2p that I know of, or used.

As for the "when in the he11 they going to increase upload" question...my buddy keeps telling me they are working on it, but man i have heard that a lot. He says it is a modulation bla bla bla, and has to do with Docsis the compression software they licence. etc...

Whoa 370 kbps. Nice.

Im in MA and mine is at 220 kbps always. So that should mean 400 kbps+ for me :)

Very nice.

hunt3r Didn't know about the 4.3 down upgrade for the pro, but still doesn't seem worth double the price. But I'd consider keeping it if it was 4.3 down / 768 up with say a couple (or even one) real static IP.
