$10 more a month if you are not a cable subscriber...

I pay about $42...bought my own modem so I don't have to lease one from them...

3MB upgrade *confirmed* in Indianapolis, Indiana:

2004-01-06 09:56:08 EST: 2999 / 207
Your download speed : 2999435 bps, or 2999 kbps.
A 366.1 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 207125 bps, or 207 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

All downloads are pretty consistently around 360k/s.

Anybody in Salt Lake City seen the increase to 3Mbps? I've been checking on and off for about a month and I'm still stuck at 1.8Mbps.

I know it can't be my modem as I've powered it up/down a couple of times and I used to hit 3.0Mbps+ when I used the same modem in the good 'ol days of @Home.

Central NJ here. Got the upgrade couple of weeks ago and speeds are fine.

For the last 2 months my speeds have been as slow as dirt during peak times here in South Bend, IN. I'm lucky if I rate <200kps... My upload is usually faster than my download! They keep telling me that they "are working on it". That doesn't give me much faith considering that availablilty was only "2 weeks away" for a year and a half... :)

We've obviously been upgraded in the Philly area...just got 3232kbps on the ol' DSLReports speedtest. I have seen d/l's from Microsoft exceeding 600Kb/sec. Of course, this is about the speed we had when service was delivered by @Home. (Remember them?)

I'm not gonna read this whole thread, but did anyone notice the increased webspace? I used to have 25MB total, now I seem to have 25MB per username

I thought it used to be 10MB per username, up to 6 usernames?

25MB per is pretty cool though.

did you unplug the modem and wait for five minutes and then repower it back up? That is the only way it will get reset.

Ditto that. I've had similar trouble for months. Some advice.

1) They can see how strong the signal is to your cable modem. This should indicate right off if there is a problem.
2) They will want you to reboot the cable modem to "clear the cache". This is a red herring...bunch of crap.
3) Buy a signal booster. It may not solve the problem but it reduced the problem for me. My TV comes in better now too.
4) ASK FOR A REFUND for that day. Apparently they will give you a credit if you ask. Although magically their billing department is open about 2 hours a day.
5) Call them everytime there's a problem and make them come fix it. They were out to my neighborhood 3 times before they got it right. They know there are problems...but if you don't complain, they don't care.

You know.. My internet speed is fast enough. Sure, a speed increase would be nice, but...

What really pisses me off is that I have experienced a ton of problems with my internet in the past month or so. Either really slow speeds or service outages which sometimes require me to unplug my modem and reboot everything. This happened again this morning. I was without internet until a few hours ago. Comcast=Suck as far as I'm concerned.
