no issue... you just got subjected to the chick car tax. they figured women drivers are worse... so women drivers get taxed more. Don't get me wrong.. its a pretty little car. my mom drives one... my wife drives one...

'tis all
What are you on about?

if we are not the highest in the country i would be surprised.

history of registering my 2004 Camry

New 2005 $585.70
2006 $357.00
2007 $285.00
2008 $197.84
2009 $136.72
2010 $136.72
2011 $168.07 <<<WTF!
2012 $172.57 <<<WTF!!!!

seriously it should not cost me 172 fricken dollars to put plates on my car. the rise in price starting in 2011 was due to a state bill so it went up for everybody. my co-worker drives a 1979 ford ranger and it went from $35 to $90 bucks a year.

firicken crooks.

OMG that's cheap compared to Louisiana, New Jersey and Illinois

That will only get you one month

What are you on about?

The Truth.

What's a matter?

SHHHHHHHH!!! stfu about how much money your states are raking in by taxing the shit out of vehicles. NY hasn't figured that one out yet.

What about all the other fees? $250 for parking sticker alone.

Never heard of it. But I don't live in Chicago so I don't give a shit. There's no question IL is tax greedy sumbitch. But it's not in vehicle plates. It's in sales tax, property tax, the newly passed doubling of state sales tax, and all of the other nickel and dime shit the money retarded liberals here can manage to grab from you.

Dave, do you really expect no one to call you out when you make shit up?

NJ vehicle registration renewal fees:
http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/Fees.htm

His car would cost $46.50.

And we don't have property tax on automobiles in NJ either, so don't even try to lie about that. We may have the highest (or nearly the highest) state/local tax burden in the country, but our vehicles are hardly taxed at all compared to other states.

Edit: No inspection fees either.

That's insane. Why was it so expensive the first few years you got it?

When I moved to NY, the registration, title for my car, and license was only $153. When I renewed my 2008 Mazda 3 for two years this past January, it was only $53.50.

Weird. I think it's like $50ish in WA every year. Gotta do DEQ every time though. That's an extra $15... So, maybe $70 in the end to get new tags.

Here in Quebec it cost me $263 to plate my car and $120 for the license this year (good for 1 year) and there's only signs of it increasing in the foreseeable future.

To register a motorcycle here it costs $500-600 per year and you can only ride it a few months per year due to the weather.
