Moony, I thought you had a higher IQ than 70. I don't care about the party, I made the government worker who should abide by the law a Republican in the example so Jhhnn could get over his bias smoke and mirrors and maybe have a rational conversation. One you clearly can't have either it looks like.

Try to answer the question HONESTLY for the first time in your or his life and lets see where the answer takes us.

I thought you maybe had an IQ over 70. You hoped he would get over what you think is his bias by putting the issue in terms of the bias you assume he has. I can assure you that if you thought like a leprechaun, you would have found a pot of gold under that rainbow.

Yup. Hillary supporters must needs be masters of defense in depth.

The primary problem with most of the arguments in this thread is the clearly visible emotional connection to a person, party, or ideology.

If we could all look at the actions themselves void of any person I think we'd all have a significantly easier time communicating on this issue, but at this point I doubt that's possible.

Not at all. They merely need to ignore the nonstop GOP smears. There's little actual fire behind all the dishonest smoke. Those outside your bubble understand this. You are the Boys Who Cried Wolf, and you don't matter.

LOL - I am perfectly rational. I just don't fall for your party line.

If rationality is only voting D, I am glad I am not rational.

LOL, you are perfectly insane. The notion that only voting D is the only way to be rational is so absurd an interpretation of the people you oppose here that's it's not even funny. You build your little world of delusions and poke holes in them and the delusions and the holes are all a LedgendKiller production. You claim to be intelligent and rational but you talk like a fool and it's pretty amazing.

And besides, what would you know about anything because you are a clam.

The primary problem is most of the arguments are based on speculation and innuendo that have been asserted as fact. This propaganda is then repeated so many times through a well-organized smear campaign that most people are hopelessly confused about the real issues. To paraphrase Reagan, they "know" so many things that aren't so.

Isn't everything speculation until validated?

It's really not fair to just say that everyone is speculating, given that none of us is omnipotent, and unless Hillary is going to join this thread to clear things up we're ALL going to speculate.

If you truly feel it's an issue of misinformation, then wouldn't the logical approach be to fight that misinformation, without the emotional charged attacks we see every other post? I concur that they are both at play and we should address them.

Hell, if it was as simple as speculative nuanced disagreements then we could just make a bullet point list from everyone and validate each point individually, instead of spend 40+ pages bickering. I still suggest the emotional attachment weighs heavily against any actual civilized discourse.

Not only that but they want to look at the actions devoid of context. It's like saying some of out founding fathers were horrible people because they had slaves and didn't allow women to vote. Without context it's pretty easy to get upset.

So you're fine with Hillary authorizing her aide to collect her government salary while also "working" not one but two other jobs, you're fine with Her Highness lying about doing this, and you imagine pointing this out to be "dishonest smoke". Gotcha. As I have said before, you have your team and there is literally nothing that team can do that you won't support.

That would be sad except your periodic accusing others of partisanship keep it amusing.

Now it is coming out from Clinton's mouth that she herself did not screen the emails.
She had her lawyers/staff do so.

So, now there are more additional questions that she should be answering
  1. Were they cleared for all classified info?
  2. What was the criteria as to what would be separated into the Black/White/Grey areas.
    • Who made the decision on the Grey areas and why?

If people did what you say, then hundreds of messengers would live. The killers of messengers can't live that way. The truth might leak out.

It's really not fair to just say that everyone is speculating, given that none of us is omnipotent, and unless Hillary is going to join this thread to clear things up we're ALL going to speculate.

From her lips:

8/13/2015 Response to question on wiping her email server...“I don’t know, I have no idea.” “Like with a cloth or something?"
"Well, no. I don't know how it works digitally at all."

8/14/2015 "I never sent nor received any classified email, nothing marked 'classified.' And I think this will sort itself out."

9/4/2015 Response to need to apologize... “At the end of the day, I am sorry that this has been confusing to people and has
raised a lot of questions, but there are answers to all these questions and I will continue to provide those answers,”

9/7/2015 Response to need to apologize.... "What I did was allowed. It was allowed by the State Department. The State Department
has confirmed that." “I did not send or receive any information marked classified,” “I take the responsibilities of handling
classified materials very seriously and did so.” “It is not a criminal investigation, it is a security review,”

9/8/2015 Interview with David Muir.... “I do think I could have and should have done a better job answering questions earlier.
I really didn’t perhaps appreciate the need to do that,”

9/9/2015 "I wanted you to hear this directly from me: Yes, I should have used two email addresses, one for personal matters
and one for my work at the State Department. Not doing so was a mistake. I'm sorry about it, and I take full responsibility."

So dishonest. You're part of this thread-

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2449356

That accusation appears to be false based on a NYT article linked in post #35 of it yesterday afternoon.

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/fir...-region&region=bottom-well&WT.nav=bottom-well

You are the author of post #36 directly below it. But you're here today to re-assert the same lie debunked yesterday.

If you somehow missed post #35 in that thread I can understand you being mistaken. If that's the case, you need to admit it.

What is sad is that you are incapable of understanding even so simple a fable as The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Republicans are liars who cry wolf, over and over and over again. You've been lying about the Obama administration for a good seven years. You've been lying about the Clintons for at least 20. You therefore have zero credibility. None. About anything. If you said water is wet we'd need to verify this from a credible source before believing it.

Thus, when you claim Hillary did this or lied about that, we assume you are still lying. This is not because we're "fine with Hillary ..." (Yet another example of you personally lying, one of your most defining traits here.) It's because we don't believe you. Based on past performance, it's likely you're either knowingly lying again, or you're stupidly parroting more lies from your masters. Either way, you are not trusted to convey truthful information.

TL;DR -- It's not that we believe Clinton/Obama/???, it's that we don't believe YOU. That is the moral of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

No, not at all. Much information comes from direct observation. It isn't necessarily accurate (and thus may need to be validated), but it is drawn from reality. Speculation comes when one has no direct information, but is still compelled to fill the void with something. One creates speculation to fill gaps in information. One creates innuendo in order to smear someone dishonestly.

It's really not fair to just say that everyone is speculating, given that none of us is omnipotent, and unless Hillary is going to join this thread to clear things up we're ALL going to speculate.
Clinton is only one of many parties with direct knowledge of various aspects of this story. All have provided information, though it's certainly possible some of this information is deliberately inaccurate (i.e., lies). Speculation comes when people in this thread, or their sources, create their own pseudo-information to fill gaps or even to contradict actual information.

If you truly feel it's an issue of misinformation, then wouldn't the logical approach be to fight that misinformation, without the emotional charged attacks we see every other post? I concur that they are both at play and we should address them.
I have done so, as have many others. The temperature rises as people refuse to accept new information, refuse to acknowledge they've made inaccurate statements or are treating speculation as fact, etc.

To offer a couple of simple examples, consider the number of people who still insist Obama is a Muslim or Obama was born in Kenya. These beliefs have been conclusively demonstrated to be false, yet there are people who still repeat them. We have the same thing in this threads (and most P&N threads), where people cling to false beliefs no matter how much evidence is presented.

Hell, if it was as simple as speculative nuanced disagreements then we could just make a bullet point list from everyone and validate each point individually, instead of spend 40+ pages bickering. I still suggest the emotional attachment weighs heavily against any actual civilized discourse.

Am I OK with what? Moonlighting? In general, sure, as long as it doesn't interfere with one's other job responsibilities. I actively moonlighted for many years, and still do occasionally.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;

Long time the manxome foe he sought—

So rested he by the Tumtum tree

And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,

And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through

The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

He left it dead, and with its head

He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

And wench thou mounts the head of Moombeam

As a trophy mantle piece,

label it with golden letters that say,

"Here rests the head of a fearsome beast,

A really really vicious Jabberwock,

And not a gnat as would otherwise appear,

Yes yes, a most fearsome creature slain and mounted by a twit.
