What a bunch of uneducated retards.
Cleopatra was not black, none of the Egyptian peoples were. They were Semitic, and Cleopatra wasn't pure Egyptian either. She was half Macedonian (Greek) and half Egyptian.
It's the same story with the dumbfucks who portray pharaonic egypt as being populated exclusively by the "black Africans," when they clearly were not.
It's a shame this is an issue at all, because it suggests that some African-Americans (where this movement is most prevalent) feel they need to pretend that a completely different race/culture was really theirs, when in fact there have been a multitude of very interesting cultures in Africa that have been very advanced.
The Kushites were one of the first kingdoms to use Iron ore consistently for tools and weapons. This technological skill also let them dominate Egypt briefly in the 8-7th centuries.
And the So culture that was a confederation of city states.
There are plenty of "Black" African cultures and empires that Africans can "take pride" in (what's wrong with taking pride in your current country, anyway?), but to try to revise History and say the Egyptians are Black Africans is blatant dishonesty and it reflects the own advocates ignorance and lack of self respect or zeal for the truth.
edit: what's interesting is that there a few African peoples who do not have the "stereotypical" African face, which is correctly called the "Bantu" face which has become genetically prevalent amongst Africans. The Zhun/Twasi of the Kalahari desert are one example of a different genetic facial makeup.
