No, a 4 banger won't handle double power adders (turbo with NOS unless he spends another $5K on his rotating assembly to handle both). The "standard" mods most guys do to their LS1's run a total of about $1500 putting the car deeeeeeeep into the low 12's and high 11's. Spend another $500 and throw in a TNT kit, it'll be a low 11 sec car, maybe high 10's. A local guy around here bought a '98 Pontiac trans am for $10K, spend $10k on mods, he's running 10.20's and drives is 35miles one way to work every day. He has over 40K miles on the setup (crank,rods,pistons,rings,bearings) with 0 reliability problems. He still gets 20+ mpg highway.
