 Why do people have to combine the actors work and their personal life. Being a prick doesn't make him less talented.

Because they're childish.

Because he's being a prick at work? Do you think your boss would keep an employee that was slightly above average in talent, but a complete ass to all of his colleagues?

Bale is a HUGE FUCKING STAR who at this point can attract throngs of people by name alone and make these companies millions of dollars. If an employee was making a company that much money I'm sure the boss would let him be a prick to a certain extent. Does that excuse Bale from acting like a punk? No, but let it go. Consider it good how long it took him to get this way.

You people can't think of actors as saints and get all emo butt-hurt when your little heroes show their human side. Just fucking let it go. Boycotting their movie doesn't do shit as they already got paid for it, so you're just hurting all the people that had to deal with him which is a double kick in the nuts.

I don't know, seems a little ridiculous to try and judge character from a soundbite.

Well to me after hearing this. It sounds like the DP has done this more than a couple times already but the guy is to dumb to learn. Honestly I blame the director for this. Its his set, he should of stepped in and bitched at the DP for a bit. I have no sympathy for people who consistently fuck up and think that if they say sorry that all is ok. If you're gonna consistently screw up then you better be able to take that kind of crap. I don't blame bale at all. If I was working 18 hour days and someone was doing boneheaded shit i would flip out at them too.

I agree with you here... except for saying that you don't blame Bale.

I can understand losing your cool - but he took it to another level. A VERY immature level. He sounded like a kid throwing a temper tantrum and stomping his feet whining about everything. Not only that, but he kept repeating himself like no one understood him the first 10 times. Bale is shit.... good actor (not as Batman), but shit.

No job would be worth taking that. I would have knocked his ass out and promptly quit.

This is monumental..I am in accordance with Amused. NO ONE...I MEAN NO ONE SPEAKS to ME THAT WAY and gets away with it unanswered. The other guys could have just said, "you know..you are really acting unprofessional now...perhaps you should take that energy and place it into your role and next scene coming up...you fuggin maggot.!

LOL - I've worked with people like that. Short fuses and just looking for an excuse to go off on a rant on someone "below" them.

But although Bale's behavior makes us think twice about taking tea with the Brit, let along working with him, Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on the fourth Terminator film, tells E! News that Bale, a "consummate professional," just had a bad day.

"If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove...It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin. "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.

"This was my second movie with Christian, and it has always been a good experience with him," added Franklin, who also worked with the actor on 2000's Shaft. "He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise about this, but I don't think it's fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it's an art form. "

Reps for Bale and Hurlbut did not immediately return calls for comment.

Terminator movie ... emotional?? AHAHAH!

Like his job is so hard.....

You have never seen the variety of roles he has played, have you? Doing what he does to his body has got to be hard. :-/

Oh boo hoo.
How well can you act?

What the cinematographer did was unprofessional.

What would Tiger Woods do if a fan started break-dancing in front of him mid-swing at The Open?

Sure they are paid millions. Because they do something that 0.0001% of the population can do. Any old idiot can work long hours doing manual labor. Very few can be the lead actor in a $1 billion grossing movie.

Well that sucks. It really bites to see people I admire act like that.
I came this close to punching Billy Crystal in the face once, but that's another story. :)

You mean Billy Crystal...that linebacker from high school who used to pull up your underwear over your head in front of the cheerleaders?.......

I'm a missing a pop culture reference here?

Meh, he yelled, big deal.

I have yelled like that at my nephew after he smashed into 3 of my friends cars on the Ohio Turnpike at a toll stop.

DO YOU SEE THAT SIGN?!! WHAT DOES IT SAY?! SAY IT! SAY IT MOTHERFU**ER! THATS RIGHT, IT SAYS 'CHECK BRAKES'! YOU GOD DAMN IDIOT! NOW WE ARE ALL STRANDED IN OHIO 6HOURS FROM HOME BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FRICKEN DRIVE!

Then I fixed his car with JBWeld and packing tape and we drove home.

I stand corrected. I have actually found a bigger tool than Christian Bale

If I was that lighting guy I would tell Bale to go fuck himself. No one talks to me like that. Bale is a tool. I don't get all the Bale love. It's probably from all the The Dark Knight nut-huggers.

A lot of women are probably turned on by such behavior, until they bring the guy home. Then they complain to guys like me, "Why can't I find a nice guy."

A simple diaper change and a binkie would have calmed him down.

It's ironic he talks about being a "professional" and calling the guy amateur. Hmm.. I would assume a "professional" would have just sucked it up an redone the shot. Hell sometimes shots are ruined by a plane flying over or an extra farting. Suck it up.
