I'm sorry, but how the hell can anyone defend that? Granted the lighting guy was in the wrong, but no one deserves to be personally abused for four minutes. Saying he's tired and stressed, and because he's unique he should be forgiven blah blah is NOT an excuse. If I accidently deleted my boss' porn stash for example, would it be ok for him to yell at me about it just because he's worked for a week straight?

This isn't the damn middle ages where we have Lords yelling at us peasants and we have to bow our heads and accept this shit. That conduct is just not professional.

Bale = fucker.

WTF are you talking about?

Your boss doesn't have a porn stash? What kind of place do you work for??!

I'm one of those people who don't really follow movie stars, I didn't know who this guy was until I saw this thread. So he's not THAT famous, guys. Get over him. :)

Bullshit. This isn't exactly uncommon for actors to act this way.

Yeah you hear about actors pulling this crap all the time, it's just rare to get solid evidence like this.

Verbal tirades from successful high level crew (directors/producers/etc) and actors isn't at all uncommon in the industry. What is on the clip is fairly tame in comparison to some of the shit that goes down on sets or in studio offices.

These people (for the most part) really do live in their own world, one what we would hardly recognize. Pretty much nobody in the industry is willing to tell these people "no" in any circumstance due to the $ factor. That kind of empowerment leads to stuff like the clip being considered common and generally acceptable.

This is pretty much the truth (and well summed up mind you) from what I understand. Hence why the DP just sits there and takes it like a bitch for 4+mins. If he said or did anything otherwise, he'd never work in the town again.

Burn Hollywood. Burn!

James Cameron was known to be be a Hall of Fame douche when filming "Titanic" (due to the deadline/overbudget pressures and James being an asshat anyways on a sunny day).

Fortunately for the crew, many won Oscars and the film went on to be th highest grossing film......so all was forgiven(?)...

One of these days I wouldn't be surprised if Tiger took his driver and put it through someone's head after they click their camera when he's setting up. People at that level of focus deserve leeway (altho probably not that much, lol.)

meh who cares.

I figure after working a lot of hours on a job that takes a lot of concentration his fuse was short. then having a scene ruined because some idiot causes the actor to lose focus would piss me off also.

Its one thing to blow off a little steam but about the 3 or 4th time he said #uck you to the guy he should have had this Bale butt munch by the throat......He was probably pissed because the re shoot of the scene was going to cut into his nut sack massage session.

404 empathy for Bale not found

If Tiger Woods pulled anything like he'd probably be suspended from the PGA, and would definitely lose some sponsors.

Bale could be the biggest douche in the world (he sure sounds like it), but I don't give a fuck, he's a kick-ass actor in kick-ass roles.

However, if the article does have any bit of truth to it, I could see someone finally being pushed passed the breaking point and flipping out like that.

I have a co-worker that fucks up every day. She continually fucks up even after a warning. I don't go off on here like that. Seriously, I could understand about 5-10 seconds of yelling and "what the fuck" but this goes on and on and on.

Same here. No adult would ever talk to me like that for long. One of us would get knocked out. Generally speaking, it's the bitchy-ass, punk that's doing the mouthing that gets a nap.

Seriously, this guy is a know idiot like this. Great actor or not, and I'm not saying he is....I've only seen him in Batman, and I didn't think that was all that great, but you simply don't talk to people like that.

I don't doubt for a second that the DP did something stupid. Something that likely required a berating... but FOUR MINUTES LONG? IT just makes Bale looks retarded and like baby in the middle of a tantrum. The only thing that MAY warrant such an prolonged outcry is if the DP murdered his mom... then again I think he hit his own mom didn't he?

This has nothing to do with "PC" bullshit.

This has to do with treating people with common decency and manners. Something that predates "PC" by thousands of years.

If anything, the one who is protected by "PC" here is Bale, who in previous generations would have been beaten to a bloody pulp like he deserved. But in our Care Bear raised pussified society, outbursts like that are not only tolerated, but even justified by some.

On Extra last night, they interviewed Bale's ex-assistant.

The assistant said that Bale has a short fuse and an extreme temper. And since Bale is 6'1", he could be an "intimidating" presence.

McG was also interviewed, and he just blew it off sayin' that Bale was "passionate" and a "professional".

He went on and on and on about it though. He came off like a totally deranged blithering idiot.
