As a Canadian I find the American treatment of pot rather bizarre. I rather have a pot smoker live in my place than a drinker or cigarette smoker.
Depends what you think is the negatives of his smoking pot on your property, I suppose? It is your property and so your rules are the ones he should follow, but I think you're really blowing things out of proportion. What's the worst that could happen if he continued?
For me as a landlord........ it's not the pot smoking..... he can smoke outside. But the smokin g inside really would tee me off. It's relly hard if not impossible to get the smoke smell out (funk febreeze). Just keep that sh!t outside.
Cheers,

I think the OP should do a bong hit and stop being such a tool.

A fresh coat of paint will get rid of the pot smell once he moves out. Problem solved.

hmmm, some people are claiming it's easy to get the smell of pot out of a room, but I wonder if that's just because they've become used to it. Anytime I've visited a house/room of someone that habitually smokes anything, including pot, I can smell it even if they aren't lighting up.

BS. pot smoke doesn't linger liek tobacco. It's spilling bong water, tracking resin everyhwere that causes the funk. Interesting, occurences of bongs being tipped onto carpets increase with frequency as a direct proportion to bong usage
Those little ozonators, or whatever they're called, work very well. Also, opening a window is just as effective.
There is a significant and growing body of evidence on the relationship between mental illness and cannabis. Strong
associations are consistently found between mental illness and cannabis ? but this is not the same as a causal link.

talk to him first and threaten police action, if he ever gets busted you go down with him. If he keeps doing it, narc him hehe
Are you kidding me?
Threaten a long time friend by telling him you will call the cops on him for smoking weed? Do you live under a rock?

Go up to him and say "Hey man, I noticed your room smelled like smoke the other night. I don't know exactly what was going on and I don't care that much. However if you are going to smoke, please don't do it inside. I don't want smoke of any kind in this house as we do not own it. Thanks"
Simple enough.

Just tell him if he's going to smoke that, don't do it on that property.

The truth of the matter is, if the cops were ever called, he goes to jail too.
