Just for giggles I'm going to skip 13.1 and try this instead. :awe:
GL
Just tried 13.1, seems same as 12.11 b11. (which we all figured)

Downloading the 13.2's now.
According to AMD rep, try at your own risk, but that pretty much describes any AMD driver IMO anyway.

I've actually had really good results from AMD drivers for the past few years... Beta drivers are always a risk though. I'm gonna stick to 13.1 when I get a chance to download them, but I'm hoping the 13.2 ones work well for all of you. If no one comes back complaining about them I'll give them a shot too, although at the rate these things are getting released we will probably already have the next update incoming soon.

Hopefully leshcat will put out a package with the new Catalyst for people on laptops with Intel integrated graphics + AMD discrete GPU.

Posting this warning from an AMD insider (on another board) in both threads:

"THE LEAKED BETA 13.2 IS AN UNFINISHED DRIVER SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO TEST FRAME LATENCY, WITH NO FINAL QA COMPLETED ON ANYTHING ELSE IN THE DRIVER. PLUS OTHER GOODIES INTENDED FOR THE REAL 13.2 ARE MISSING. DO NOT INSTALL IT."

Lol, looks like I'll install 13.1 before playing much more. I did fire up Skyrim and I can't say I see any difference. I even did a test run in FRAPS and the frametime graph came out the same as previously. Guess I'll hold off for now.

I'm looking forward to 13.2, but mostly out of curiosity. I'm one of those who hasn't noticed much stuttering, but who knows, maybe I will get a better gaming experience.

So, from the guinea pigs - safe to skip and wait for 13.2 Beta 1 or should I update?

I'm in no rush to follow my religious driver change practice, so unless it is worth 5 minutes of time...you get my point haha.

That would depend on which version you are on now and whether you are experiencing problems

It is better than 12.11 beta, I know it sure fixed the problems for skyrim.

I'm not sure if I want to try and risk teh 13.2 beta or the 13.1 WHQL since the former has solved latency problems. Though Anyways going to un-install my drivers since I think I cocked those up while upgrading from a 6770 to a 7950. Though since I am on 12.10 I should see performance upgrades overall on either.

Installed 13.1 on a fresh install of Windows 7. Fired up Hitman: Absolution. It runs smooth as butter on High settings @1080p on my 7870. Haven't tried Ultra yet though. The only place where it drops below ~60fps is the train station, where there's a huge crowd of people. Runs flawlessly everywhere else. Including Chinatown.

I also loaded a level of Duke Nukem: Forever, and it looks like the artifacts have been... alleviated? I'm still seeing some kind of flickering going on every now and then, and a couple of rogue artifacts. But I can't reproduce the corruption as easily as I could with 12.11. So while it's not totally fixed, it appears to be improved.

I'll do some further "testing" later. I also plan on benchmarking Hitman and posting a graph of the frametimes.

I would like to see a screen shot of the artifacts you are seeing

No issues here with 13.1, 7970, and Guild Wars 2.

Will update to the 13.2's once they're officially released.

A few of you might recall my statement maybe a month or so ago about AMD's driver team doing shoddy work and possibly even gave me flack for saying it. Well, today when I went to install the driver I was greeted with the AMD HDMI driver failing to install. Apparently these clowns fudged the installer and had to repack the correct files in order to make it work. On [H] there were other people with this problem.
