getting interesting...

Problems involving taxes and a household employee surfaced during the vetting of Caroline Kennedy and derailed her candidacy for the Senate, a person close to Gov. David A. Paterson said on Thursday, in an account at odds with Ms. Kennedy?s own description of her reasons for withdrawing.

The account emerged 14 hours after Ms. Kennedy announced that she was taking her name out of contention for the Senate seat vacated by Hillary Rodham Clinton, and as Mr. Paterson appeared to be leaning toward selecting Representative Kirsten E. Gillibrand, an upstate lawmaker in her second term in Congress.

Hard feelings toward Ms. Kennedy were clearly building among the governor?s staff on Thursday, after a dramatic evening in which she was reported to be dropping out, then wavering, then ultimately, shortly after midnight on Thursday, issuing a statement ending her candidacy.

The person close to the governor said Mr. Paterson ?never had any intention of picking Kennedy? because he had come to consider her unready for the job.

Bloomberg was elected mayor.
Patterson wasn't elected governor, but I thought that Lt. Governor was an elected office.
and whoever gets picked to replace Hillary is going to have to run on their own in 2 years.

Are there any republicans who aren't engaging in illegal behavior may be the better question, but its still the assertions of trolls, and games I do not wish to play.

Be it resolved, both democrats and republicans are less than perfect human beings,
our mostly Christian faith asserts Jesus Christ died to save us from sins, and most members of the republican and democratic party are not really horribly corrupt.

But for this thread purposes, Caroline Kennedy critics have won, not because Caroline is corrupt, but because she was not ready yet or up to speed on issues.

End of story, nothing more to see anymore, but bottom line, Gov Patterson will just appoint some other democrat.

Tell me again how the GOP won anything here? But cheer up, they lost nothing either.
The GOP only loses anything if they continue to beat a dead horse or Elephants.

Yes, but that's only because there are more Democrats holding elected office than any other time in the last twenty years. It's simply the law of averages.

Here's a news flash--both parties are full of corrupt, incompetent toadies who couldn't get a job on merit in the real world if their life depended on it.

On the other hand, maybe the spectacular crash and burn of a completely unqualified ninny like Kennedy is a hint that the American people have finally had it with the permanent political class and their family members running this country.

Fear no evil has mighty select vision if he wants to assert, " Seems to me to be democrat after democrat getting caught doing illegal things lately."

Those are games I would not advise republirats to play on the recent numbers, since when are elephants billed as the ones with short memories?

Long after Fear no Evil runs out of recent names like Blagojevich and Jefferson, Donkeys can beat you 10 to 1. And 60 to 1 on the damage they did.

If there are any they will not be considered for an Obama cabinet position.

Sounds like a common theme among democrats lately.

How much is she willing to pay for the seat? That seems to be about all the democrat criminals in congress are interested in these days.

Idiot, one Democratic Governor was a criminal trying to sell the seat. The Democrats in Congress are supporting his arrest and refusing to seat his nominee.

LOL So much for that priciple. Craig, would you like to rescind your "idiot" comment now that it only applies to you?

You have that backwards, it applies to you. The accusation that Caroline Kennedy was paying money for the seat - as if all democrats do that - remains idiotic.

The Senate Democrats did refuse to accept anyone where there was suspicion of the seat being 'paid for'. When the governor made an appointment that was widely viewed by both sides as not 'paid for', and the democrats had limited grounds remaining for opposing it as a corrupt nomination, with a length legal battle ahead, they reversed their position form 'will not accept any nominee' to accept an untainted nominee.

That was a reason for them to change position that doesn't change my post otherwise.
