They only ban bullets specifically designed to penetrate body armor, such as teflon coated bullets. Hollow points are the opposite - they're designed to minimize penetration. For some reason, I would assume gangs don't use hollow points. It would minimize the impact of a drive-by shooting because the hollow points don't go through walls very well. Firing a ton of regular bullets at your house would be much more dangerous.

Please stop calling them by their wrong term. They are heretofore known as assault bullets.

Even "better", when Obama gets to nominate SCOTUS judges, they'll be sure to adopt his abusive attitudes towards Constitutional rights as well.

This will be his most significant legacy. I think a couple of supreme judges are 76 now. If one retires/croaks during Obama's term you can bet things will change in court.

Heck, look at Heller from 2008 it was 5:4. If not for that then gun owners would be absolutely fucked right now. At least they can appeal to that and mcdonald, in 2010. Heller and Mcdonald are the best weapons against further control and without them it would be worth just packing in bags and everybody getting used to muzzle loaders.

And people wonder why gun rights advocates are unwilling to compromise with gun control advocates. This is their interpretation of compromise.

Under the new proposals, anyone in possession of a magazine with greater than 10 rounds capacity is a criminal. No grandfathering. You will need a background check and permit to buy ammo. You will need yearly certification to own a handgun. They are also considering ammunition taxes and confiscation of registered "assault weapons".

If you're a law-abiding gun owner in California, be aware, you're under attack from these shameless lawmakers.

Possession of hollow point bullets and similar assault bullets a felony.
EDIT Must register and report ammo purchases. Only purchase max 500 rounds.
10 round limit
ALL magazines must be fixed to the gun (can not be removed without the use of a tool)
100% prohibition of all magazines greater than 10 rounds. All previous grandfathered magazines become illegal. Felony if you keep one.
Changing definition of shotgun revolving cylinder -- Basically only single shot shotguns will remain legal.

I've never really studied how governments get so many of their countrymen to go along with genocide. What type of propaganda makes a soldier believe that killing unarmed and starving people is the right thing to do?

I don't know that a mass killing of that scale could ever happen in the US. With the new media and inherit skepticism that a lot of people have, I don't think that a tyrannical government could be so blatant and still maintain support. I think it would have to be a gradual chipping away of liberties and life versus one fell swoop. More of a slow burn.

right but I still have a hard time believing it would pass- the thing is, while the democrats do indeed control the legislature there are a lot of much more rural areas in CA that people tend to forget about; pretty much everything more than 50 miles from the coast (outside of sacramento) leans a lot more to the right. I believe Yee has been putting this sort of garbage forward for a while, this just being the most recent and most restrictive, although I could be wrong.....

The annoying thing (to me anyway as a taxpaying californian) is that at the end of this either it doesn't pass or it does and gets struck down but ends up wasting time in the first case and a lot of money pointlessly in the second.
