I did Sent's burn in on my proc, a winnie but I think this should still be appropriate. I had it up as far as it would go on the stock voltages, burned while I went to class/sleeping.

I raised the fsb a bit eventually, got it a little higher, burned again. Anyway, the point of that little story was I went down to stock voltages and saw a .1 drop in my minimal Vcore setting as stock speed.

I did this for a little over a week and I'm now stable at 2.0GHz at 1.175 V, longevity is a little more important to me than a couple hundred MHz.

I'm poor.

meh, its worth a try i figure. a lot of people have claimed good results some have had no results.

i only managed 2 burn in sessions before some new ram came in and i want to get that going first. but after 2 runs, 1 6 hours and 1 10 hours, i will say me results are nil. but, i also PM'd sen as i'm not sure if i'm doing it 100% correctly.

i'll give it another go once i get my ram tweaked.

Its not really training you starve the parts for voltages thus causeing then to adapt to not have the stock required voltage and lowering the voltage necessary for them function and still be stable (this also lowers the operating temps).

ok on with the update. I've just started my next session 1.275v comp booted up fine and i've started it in on the 8 hour burn in session at about 10 mins in the cpu is running at 36c under initial load (i'm pretty sure that will drop down a little bit throught the session as it has with other sessions. usuallyl it starts out a 37c). No crashes or reboots yet mid to low 1.something volts are begining to look feasable.

thanks for the support vegitto good luck to you also i'm hoping 1.0v burn in will be possible. i'm a little off course today (had to work a 12hr day today) so i'm runing prime95 on my current voltage(1.275v) to get a little extra stress on in since i have to wait till i go out to start my next session.

ok i'm about 3/4ths through my 1.24v burn in session its lookin really stable 31c at idle 35 under load. with the last burn in i had some extra time to run more tests ran prime95 for about 2 hours to see what the results were passed all the test easy (figured i see if everything was still stable) so far so good i think i'm gonna be able to work all the way down to 1.0v (or even less at this rate :shocked: in which case i might have to burn my house down)

ok just started the 1.22v session (10 hrs) its idling at 29c and is getting up to 34c under load. after this test is over i'm changing out the hsf for something a little stronger this fan isn't getting the rpms i want (its only getting like 2100rpms avg i want something like 3000rpms or at least 2500rpms)

Go for it! Could you show a CPU-Z screenie of the processor running at 1.22V or less?

yeah need to get a good screen capture prog (any suggestions) and i will be happy to my comp is currently bare except for BF2 and overclocking/burn in progs. just about halfway into the 1.20v burn in session 30c idle 35c load. just put filters on my intake fans so the case temp is up a little bit but still around 33-34 range so i'm not complainin. waiting till after this burn in is done to grab a stronger hsf.

I'm still interested, i've never heard of this, so to sort of follow its corse is interesting. Wondering what the results will amount too! I always like learning a little bit more bout comps. Cant wait for screens. Keep it up.
