Maybe if you showed some benchmarks at the 1.1 volt mark vs. stock, we could see. I am guessing that since you claim it runs "smoother" now back at stock, it may be slower due to being starved of voltage at lower than stock. It would be like running your car on less gas, it might still run, but it isn't going to run the same ( and probably not sound the same).
