It is, however, the only tasty macrobrew. ;)

I'll drink Bud/Bud Light simply for the fact that it's typically among the cheapest at bars, and most people have it in bulk at parties and sports gatherings and whatnot.

But ever since Yuengling came to Ohio - it is exceptionally rare that I even touch any other Macrobrew.

However, while I haven't tried it recently, and not sure if it was Yuengling Lager or the Light brew, but one of them is absolutely terrible in cans. Draft and bottles, I haven't found a Yuengling I didn't like (though I like the Light brew least).

I haven't tried the light, but Yuengling in cans is so gross. I don't know what it is, but I can't stand it. Bottles or draft is the way to go.

Does it have any taste? My problem with Bud is that it has no flavor at all. Next to a glass of tap water there's very little difference.

This. I've never felt like Budweiser tastes bad, it just doesn't taste like anything at all. It's actually quite impressive, from a technical brewing standpoint. It's really hard to make a beer that light with absolutely no off flavors.

For all those upset that Bud isn't more like a craft brew, get over it. The beer snobs (and I include myself among them) would never accept a single dominating brand, and the majority of people aren't going to love malty or hoppy beers. I'm not sure what people want Budweiser to be.

Meh. A good pilsner with a moderate level of hops wouldn't offend the masses. Bud isn't hoppy because hops cost money. Bud is all about cutting costs and increases the volume of consumption.

You would think that, but even my lightest hopped lagers (20-25 ibu) are shunned by most of my BMC drinking friends as too much. I honestly think most beer drinkers simply do not like the taste of beer at all. Any hop or malt flavor is either 'too dark', 'too strong', or 'too bitter' for them. For example, my sister loves miller light. She's a pretty average drinker doing 3-6 a session. She couldn't even stomach my very light, very drinkable wheat beer. She said it was 'too dark'. We are talking a mild 4.5% abv and 25 IBU. That keg didn't last the night because it was a huge hit with my craft friends.

I don't fault them for it. This is a matter of taste, I think they drink beer because it's cheap, considered something men do, and gets them drunk. Plus they can drink a lot of it (to look manly) before getting drunk because it's so light (both in calories and abv).

Personally, I'm looking for taste and not volume or abv. If I wanted to just get tanked there are cheaper ways (looking at you jim bean) and if I wanted volume I'd rather drink water so I don't put on so much weight. However, I don't fault people who enjoy a bud light. If I'm buying rounds I'll even buy them one if that is what they want.

I avoid most hoppy beers, unless they are complex enough and have other flavors to complement them.

I'll go rabid and drool over any malt-heavy beer. :)

The macros are the best selling, by far, so they must be doing something right.
And don't tell me it is 100% marketing... those customers still have taste buds and as we have all stated, it doesn't cost much less.

I'm going to go ahead and offend the beer snobs again: Most people like their beer COLD!

Tasting food and drink is a learned behavior. As a Chef, I can tell you MOST people do not care about food. MOST people WILL eat whatever is accepted as mainstream in their respective culture. Cold inhibits your ability to taste. MOST folks who love ice cold beers don't want to taste the beer. So, the short version is YES, it IS marketing and whether you were taught to appreciate food when you were young.

You're the perfect example of a beer snob.
You assume if someone likes Budweiser or Miller, they do not know how to taste.

More "taste" doesn't mean it is good. Good is very subjective.

LOL, the ability to truly appreciate food is learned. Your viewpoint is that Walmart shoppers have just as much fashion as 5th avenue. Yes, you do have taste...bad taste. :D Can you tell the difference between ales, stouts, imperials without looking at the labels? Can you tell the difference between Cascade and Centennial hops? The refuge of the ignorant is always "I don't know about _____ but, I know what I like."

When I said "MOST people do not care about food," that wasn't hyperbole, that is a fact.

So I was going to crack a joke about Naty Ice since that's the worst beer ever but then I found this:

http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/TheWorstBeers.asp

So yeah, Naty Ice is the 3rd worst beer. Check it out to see where your favorite beer is. Black Crown isn't on this list but Bud Light is #12 and Coors Light is #29.

OMG there are some nasty beers on that list....especially Bud Light Chelada. I think I am going to throw up just thiniking about that one.

I don't understand your point.

Taste, music, art are all subjective.
You don't have to know the exact process or ingredients to know if you like it.

Your favorite beers would probably come off as too rich, too bitter, too heavy for people who like light beers.
To each his own.
No need to assume you're are more intelligent or more sophisticated than them.
That is the definition of a snob.

What are your top 3 favorite commercially available beers? Let's see what you consider "good".

I think the point is rather that Walmart shoppers are just as happy as those who buy from 5th avenue shops. People are generally happy with their Walmart clothes, their McDonalds food, their Taylor Swift music, and their Budweiser beer. You're not, and so you go and find things that suit you better. Great. I do the same for a lot of the above. However, assuming that all those people who are happy simply don't know what they're missing is condescending at best and utterly ignorant at worst.

Food, music and, art in general, all have qualities that make them what they are. Overall impressions are important BUT, you cannot make a consistent decision regarding taste UNLESS you know something about the qualities that make them what they are. You're saying in effect, that your opinion on beer is as good as mine because it is YOURS. I am saying I have knowledge of the qualities, brewing and, accepted standards by others such as myself who do their best to objectively rate beers. My preference for bigger, heavier brews does not preclude me from recognizing beers like Samuel Smith's Pure Brewed Lager Beer as being FAR superior to ANY mass produced American lagers.

I made the mistake of picking up a 12 pack (good sale though)
The dark amber and hints of caramel hooked me.

Its good.... Different. DEF more flavor than Bud whatever.....
Just wish I had a 6 pack instead.
I got it at less than a dollar a bottle..... So the fact it could EASILY be a Pizza beer. NO ISSUE.
I like my darks full body and flavored.
And YES warm...

Ireland and UK taught me a LOT about beer.
The WHOLE "Push Pull thingy with WARM beer and their taps..... AWESOMENESS.
That and the Long Island BEER FEST!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said... Get a 6... then decide.

That would be true if I didn't know for a fact that MOST people ARE ignorant of what they're missing. They are ignorant because, they do not care. MOST people would happily take a pill that met all there nutritional needs and kept them from being hungry and, NEVER eat food again.

So why judge them for that? They're happy being that way, why force them to do anything else?
