It may take awhile to get accepted, whoever is in charge of it isn't on much. Or maybe it's just at random times. I dno.

There's no like, personal gain from being in an alliance is there? It's just a friendly thing? It'll be cool if we can get AT up the 'league' !

Well, i say cool, i think you know what i mean. This could hardly be considered 'cool' :)

Yes

Deterium: most valuable, Crystal in the middle, and Metal is the least valuable...

I usually do

1 Deterium = 1.7 Crystal = 2.5 Metal

no, no, go for the metal, mo' metal, mo' metal! lol I've found little real demand for crystal at the moment, I'm focussing on building up my metal mine.

I'm currently on

m6 c4 d2 s7 , research 1, robotic 1 , although, in about 6 minutes, I'll be on m7. I'm basically just trying to maximise my overnight resource haul. Deuterium is going to be a real bitch to build up without loads of metal.

woot, 17 members!!!!
I'm at m6 c5 d2 and in 7 minutes, s7. got 2100 metal, 1400 crystal and 415 deuterium!!!!!!!!!!!!, now to spend it.

What level of money should i start worrying about being attacked? 5000 metal, 10000, 20? Not that i plan on having much more than a couple thousand at a time.

I'm currently at:

m7, c5, d2, s7

I have little resources left today..... tomorrow I should be stocked up nicely...

Question... are solar plants the best for power? Are solar satellies a better option for power once you get the technology??

solars are good if your planet is closer to the sun... for example, your coordinates are 5:333:11, that means you are on the 11th spot, which is not so good. If you were, say 5:333:1, then you'd be closest to the sun and could get lots of energy from solar satelites but it all depends on your location... closer you are to the son, more energy you get from solar satelites.

and one bad thing about solar satelites is that they can get destroyed at war, solar plants are there to stay.

garkon: you should start getting worried when your levels are about 8k on each... i think its pretty worthless to attack someone with less as they'd take half of each, which means for about 10k resources (most have less deterium than metal crystal, and less crystal than metal), so spending deterium as fuel, and filling up a fleet spot for less than 10k is not worth it...

Oh today I attacked someone and got 80K+ metal, 65K+ crystal, and about 60K+ deterium... was so nice when my cargo ships arrived back :p

I'm at 1:183:4 Do you think that makes it worth it?

When are you going to write up your attack and defense noob guides :)

I prefer my planets away from the sun cause it usually means lower temp which means higher deuterium production

Well, you should build them only if you are building your defenses as well.

Right now for example, I have 32 solar satelites but I also have 350 small lasers, 200 missile launchers, 10 heavy lasers, 20 ion cannons, and my small shield dome build, as well as hundreds of light figthers and heavy fighters :)

If you have no protection for them, they'll be the first ones to get destroyed at war...

But I'd say the 4th location (1:183:4) is good for building some solar satelites, you'll get plenty of power...

Maybe I'll write some guies later on when I am free but at the moment, the best I can tell you is to build a lot of light fighters for attacking and small lasers for defending :)

I try to build my colonies between 4th and 12th as they usually have larger surface areas (for more mines, factories, etc.)... one guy I know got a 37 as the usable area on his colony, lol, pathetic :p

Oh by the way, the U.S. ogame is ok, but not so intense, you all should check out some of the wars at the german ogame....crazy :Q

I have seen a war where a total of 160,000 light fighters, 80,000 heavy fighters, 70,000 cruisers, 70,000 battleships, 70,000 bombers and 20,000 destroyers attack someone... i think the defender had like hundreds of thousands of defense but no defense is unbeatable, you just need plenty of attacking ships :p

If i remember correctly, the attacker got about 40,000,000 resources at the end of the war! :Q

Everything you build from the buildings menu take one areal point.

For example, you have Metal at level 6, Crystal at level 5, Deterium at level 2 and Solar Plant at Level 6, that means you use 6+5+2+6=19 areal points. If your planet is small (for example 80 fields), I'd concentrate on resource production as level 20 is the max you can get on each resource mine + solar plant. You can see the size of your planet under overview (see Diameter).

My planet for example says:

Diameter 12800 km ( 80 / 163 fields )

That means I am using 80 fields out of the 163 fields.

Got it?

Just hope for large colonies :)
