Guns aren't the real issue. The reason nobody wants to address the real issue is that it's a lot more difficult to do than simply banning something.

I will quote this for truth.

For those who want to get rid of "atrocities:" I've said it before and I'll say it again: if your objective is to minimize the total number of lives lost to gun-related crime, these "atrocities" however tragic are statistically negligible.

Please stop judging the importance of issues by how much media coverage they get or how much they tug at your hearstrings.

you know, everyone here is bitching about the people who are arguing for pro-gun, but it was an anti-gun douchebag who started the whole thing. that's been conveniently left out, huh?

WHAT!?!?!?!? this post has to be trolling, no one is this ignorant...

amazon doesn't sell guns.
you can't a firearm shipped to your door unless you are an ffl.
there is no bushmaster .226 rifle.
i don't think there is even a .226 caliber
Bushmaster has nothing to do with George Bush (the company was founded in 1973)

They are referring to the incident where a man ordered a tv on amazon through a third part merchant and was instead delivered a Sig Sauer SIG716.

Winnipeg girl, 6, among victims

"Ana Marquez-Greene, 6, killed in the shooting in Newtown, Conn. On Friday, Dec. 14, 2012

A Winnipeg girl is among the victims of Friday's shooting rampage in Connecticut.

Ana Marquez-Greene, 6, and her older brother Isaiah attended Linden Christian School in Linden Woods, before moving with their parents to Newtown in July and enrolling at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the fall. Both children were inside the school when the shooter opened fire.

Ana was among the 20 children killed in the mass shooting. Her brother, reportedly a Grade 3 student, escaped without physical harm."

From a Canadian perspective:
Fuck you and your constitutional right to bear arms.

So it's only sad when Canadian children die. Fuck you too.

Imagine the media shitstorm if this guy was a Muslim. It'd be terrorism this and Islam that. But because he wasn't, he's just a disturbed individual.

i posted this in the other thread. all of the mass shootings that we had in the past few years, we probably should look into how many of them were on anti-depressants. those things probably don't work as big Pharma wants you to believe.

--------------------------------
i wonder if the shooter was on some kind of SSRI? SSRI side effects can cause mood swings, agitation, and who knows what else kind of behavioral changes.

Oh and as for the whole mental health angle?

You think we can just start screening everyone and then taking their rights away when they've done nothing wrong? That sounds right to you?

What will we do, mandatory mental health screening for everyone?

...

Well apparently you have to have no history of mental health problems to get a gun at present so it would just be enforcing existing legislation.

And it wouldn't be for everyone, just everyone that chooses to own a gun.

the teacher was at home, not at the school. the guns were in the home not at the school. you do know teleportation isn't real, right?

You obviously know that driving a car is a mode of transportation. Your comment makes no sense.

wonder what this is all about? what happened to this guy? 2nd shooter conspiracy?

Keep wondering. This wasn't the only station that reported the cops(SWAT) grabbing a guy in the woods wearing camouflage pants. I read a few reports that said the guy they grabbed out of the woods was yelling "he didn't do it" to witnesses. Then a few hours later nobody mentioned this guy again. Sound familiar? I know, let me guess, people got the story wrong because of all the "confusion" or they made it up. He was imaginary. Witnesses/media always seem get the story wrong the same way with these shootings and then change the story hours later.

Of course Adam Lanza had a mental illness and was probably being treated with psychiatric drugs, basically.... easily influenced. Big Pharma drugs=good, guns=bad. Of course everybody extremely close to him will shut the fuck up one way or another(his mom is dead).

Then we have Obama wiping away fake tears on the news. Yeah o.k., how come he doesn't cry for the innocent killed by us or our "allies" overseas on a regular basis? Or people who die from taking meds in this country? It's a serious issue to many. Get on T.V. and talk about that also and cry, I know why he doesn't, because he doesn't give a shit and it doesn't advance a present agenda. He's a puppet, he's an actor, and a bad one.

It makes me sick what happened in this school, it also makes me sick were we are potentially headed as a country.

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE! derp.

from your quote:
"Somebody before said we need to arm the teachers...we'll there was a teacher armed at the school and her son took all her firearms and used them against students."

there was no armed teacher at the school. your comment about driving to the school makes no sense. there was no armed teacher at the school....

oh and you are right guns don't kill people. i have several guns here at my house and they have no killed a single person. should i be fearing for my life that they might one day gang up on me in my sleep or something?

"at the school" as in, she was an employee there.

And your personal anecdote about having guns means...what? Nothing at all.

I'd like you to test your theory that guns don't kill. Do you have kids? I hope one of them gets a hold to your toys and either shoot you or somebody else by accident (or on purpose). Then, you can tell me about how guns don't kill or maim.

Hamburger said before that you aren't responsible if one of your family members get access to your firearm and either hurts you, themselves, or others. So, I'm sure you would probably just say it isn't your fault your kid didn't know how to handle the gun properly. The fault always goes back to the person..never on the weapon.

Yet another tragedy you gun folks are trying to spin to make it seem like the Gun isn't what caused all this mess. You guys said it after the Mall shooting, the movie shooting, Fort Hood, Columbine, VTech, and now..Sandy Hook.

Guns don't kill people.

Please tell me how much safer America is because of Guns.

If this idiot didn't have access to guns he would be just some nut job yelling at the street corner instead he took his mommies guns and killed her and bunch of innocent kids. Ban all guns than this will never ever happen again.

Guns save 1000s of lives every year. Also reduces crime. There are way to many ways it makes America safer to even list them.

Why is it when things like this come up, people are so quick to want to blame some mental illness? Why can't people realize there are just evil people in this world that want to do harm to others?

His "mental illness" had him kill his mom, then drive to a school to start killing adults then go on to killing little kids then take his own life? I can't wrap my mind around this. What "mental illness" is this anyways?

Why did he not kill himself after his mom? Why did he not kill neighbors after his mom then himself? Why did he not just kill himself? Why did he have to kill 20+ people then himself?

I have not felt this bad since September 11th, 2001 for things outside my immediate family. I could not even imagine how those families feel and hope to God that I never will. I hope that nobody ever has to go though that again.....

Very ignorant post.

You really believe this kid wouldn't have been able to get a hold of a gun if guns were banned?

You realize it would mean guns only banned for ordinary law abiding citizens.

Nut jobs and outlaws would be the only ones with the guns.
