Before that point it looks like there was some communication going on, and everyone was just standing around.
The officers instead of trying to get an idea of whats going on, go straight to using force, they were the spark that lit the kindling.

after an assault on an employee has already taken place. Nobody is shoved to the ground or beaten, but its customary procedure to separate suspects for questioning, certainly in cases where a pack mentality is present.
BASIC standard investigative procedure with ANY crime is to
separate potential suspects, take their stories/statements, and compare notes. You DO NOT interview them as a group, together, at first. This is bonehead common sense 101.
If the police did anything wrong, it's in severely underestimating how batshit this group of loons was, and confronting them "piecemeal" with "only" 4 officers instead of allowing all reinforcements to arrive.
But this asinine idea that if I assault people and threaten them, the police just have to pat me on the head and get me a juice box until I settle down and take my cranky pants off is just deluded nonsense.
