You only get rushed and lose because you were too slow on macro and he had a better army than you.

Nice little 5 game win streak you got going there goon :p

We need a list of all ATers on SC2.

lol thanks, i had a couple of intense games. some toss guy tried proxy-gating/cannon-ing in my base on the sands map. i dunno htf his probe got by. i could have sworn i walled off fine, but i guess not.

i was going to reaper rush and take down his econ, so i finished 3 reapers and started pumping out rines. bunkered up in my base to stop him from building cannons, started getting marauders.

sent the reapers to his base and it was GG since he had no defense there :)

someone suggested to me doing marines and thors. expensive, but amazingly it worked vs. a mix of zealots/stalkers/sentries.

good times :)

That's what replays are for!

I'm enjoying how I don't want to keep playing after a few good games in fear of loosing the points I've gained. Should keep me from another addiction like MW2 was all winter.

Just had a good game where we both proxies each other and
were able to hold each other off. It was intense back and forth but when I upgraded my weapons I think it helped turn the tide.

So many players out there just wall off at their only entrance point and think they're fine. I won so many games killing the opponent's workers with mutie harass and nexus/creep drop.

I ALWAYS build spore/sunken defense near my workers. Ever since the sunken buffs, I've mass towers in my base and it's very demoralizing to most players to come in for an attack. It saved my ass a bunch of times, especially those suicide games where me and the opponent just send off everything to each other bases.

Aye, I'm starting to think towers are pretty important. I often get stuck with no AA in my base and it's GG. Plus they'll help defend against early ground assault.. so why shouldn't I?!

I'm still enjoying the AI, although it's far too easy for me now. Really enjoy Terran (mostly MMM, some reaper harass, or banshee harass) and Protoss (zealots/stalkers/sentries(man i love sentries)/maybe immortals/colossi). I like some aspects of zerg like the tumors, but can't quite get into it. Never really liked them in SC1 either.

I'm going to stab Blizzard if I don't get an invite soon.

How do you DL the game to play against just the AI?

google is your friend, can't talk about it here. The AI is pathetic as I'm sure it wasn't supposed to really be played single player. but there are harder AI you can download. I haven't done much, I really want to play real people, but it is a way to see the game until that happens(if ever).

Yeah, at least I have some knowledge and experience with the units from playing the AI. Some of the AIs are pretty solid now, but after 50+ games against them it obviously becomes repetitive.

Hi guys, I want to ask if my computer can run SC2 on 1920 x 1080 reasonably well with low settings for everything.

My computer is Intel C2D E4500 2.2 Ghz (dualcore) with 2 GB of RAM. I have a GeForce 8500GT graphics card with 512MB of RAM. I use Win7 64 bit.

Thanks

the 8500GT will probably struggle some. low details will definitely help out. i'm not sure whether you are CPU or GPU limited - i have an E4300, 2gb RAM, and an ATI 3870 512mb. It runs well at 1920 maxed, but there are some times where it stutters. Not sure whether its my CPU, GPU, or even my HDDs (they're old and slooooow)

thanks Fenixgoon, looks like I may have to dish out for some extra video power :( :( I really don't want to be upgrading this box, rather wait until I do a full system refresh.

Can anyone else chime in with their experiences?

oh man i just had an epic game vs toss (i always play terran) on scrap station.

i have a supply depot/rax wall as usual. toss tries to break with zealots and sentries but fails. i counter with 4 hellions to attack his mineral line. i think i got ~10 probes before my hellions bit the dust.

i noticed that he had all of his gateways together, so i decide not only to get ghosts, but to get nukes. two nukes.

get my ghosts in the dropship, almost lost the DS because i forgot about it being able to fly (ran into his army trying to break through the rocks).

i get my army into position (MMM) and drop off my ghosts. double nuke to the gateways. he rushes my base with his army (zealot/stalker/guardian/immortal) i rush back with my army and *barely* beat them, with only 1 SCV left who was hiding in the corner building me a 2nd CC for expo.

without an army, i hunted down his last probes and got the GG.

epic game :awe:

Watched the girls play a few games last night. They've really taken to Terran/Terran reaper rushes. 9 SCV, Supply, 10-15 SCV, supply, x3 rax. Once each has about 10 Reapers they just sneak kill probes on one guy and go straight for the next. Usually they get counter attacked but they're still chain pumping reapers and at their primary and usually defend with a supply/bunker wall just fine and rarely have to help eachother.

I watched them win about six games in a row like this last night while I was installing a new HSF on my primary rig. Only time they got close to losing was vs toss/toss where a zealot rush crippled one of them (destroyed CC+ all workers but one, left with 27 minerals). Unfortunately the other team lost too much production (and both of their primary nexus) and weren't able to keep up so the remaining Terran BC tech rush and expand. She smartly expanded like crazy, locking down both remaining enemy players native expansions and using upgraded marine dropship combos to prevent any expansions while making her own with Thor defenses. Game ended with almost every mineral plot on the map taken by a terran expand and the other two just getting choked into their primary forced to mass cannons and pray. So, basically I watched proudly as she 1v2'd them while her partner used the escape as a drinking game. =D

I have both of their computers split screened to a projector/projector screen on the wall in the basement. 110 inch by 50 inch screen with each of their computer outputs on one side of the projector. They just use wireless keyboards and mice on a board laid over both their laps and sit on a futon playing SC2 most of the night after they get home from work. The ability to constantly watch the other screen without really turning your head gives them a pretty extreme degree of coordination.

sweet, just checked battle.net, and I am now in the beta

I'm checking on a daily basis now, hoping that I'll get in. Yet another login of disappointment for me :(.

Just for reference how will my rig do at 1920x1080?

E7400
8GB RAM
Radeon 4870 512MB
