Tearing up the bronze league right now, 8-2 so far. 6-1 terran, 2-1 toss. Lost to reapers as toss and I got frustrated (need to go stalkers quicker vs terran) so went back to terran full time.

Fast Reaper is very difficult to stop as toss because he can have a reaper in your base killing probes 30 seconds before you get your first stalker. That is with the fastest stalker build available. I'd expect some sort of change with reapers because of that.

Yeah, agreed, reapers definitely need a nerf. Found this response on the beta forums to the reaper cheese:

Against Terran, you pretty much always want to go 11 gate fast stalker. This allows you to account for super early reaper cheese, while not *$^&ing your eco.

Once the gate finishes, drop a cyber core and immediately chrono a zealot. Use the zealot to pressure the reaper away from all your crap (the zealot will get out right before or just as the reaper is hitting your base if you do it right) and if necessary, gather all your probes and run them away from the reaper while keeping pressure with your zealot.

It is important to ONLY chase the reaper away from your stuff with your zealot. Don't let it kite your Zealot all over the place, or the reaper WILL be able to kill it. You only need to buy time for the stalker to finish, and then it's GG reaper, get your probes back on mining, and collect your win.

Seems ridiculous that they can get out before your first stalker. Unfortunately, mine wasn't even that bad...he didn't even attack until he had 6 reapers. But the AI doesn't reaper harass you and I absolutely wasn't prepared.

The other thing that is frustrating as hell is that my connection is AWFUL lately and it takes my microing ability down to just about nil. Can't wait to get away from this effing apartment and terrible internet. T-minus three weeks.

Fortunately it doesn't matter much in bronze.

Ladder is wonky. Was chugging along in mid twenties in silver league and lost 3 close matches in a row and at the end it said i was demoted to rank 80's in bronze. WTF? Now I'm pwning left and right, but why blizz? why?

Still getting frustrated by reapers. Took out two separate camps of SCVs with some lucky timing, crippled me for a long time. Thank god for Mule's though.

I think I'm teching up to Banshees too fast, it nearly got me in trouble on that last game. He brought 20 marines + 2 tanks and took out 1/3 of my base (only had 8 rines, 3 marauders) before I could get my banshees back from harassing him, took them all out because he was too stupid to comsat. I need to beef up my ground forces more or I'm going to get destroyed against better players. I might be expanding too fast as well...usually right about when my factory is in production.

sigh yes, but doing that means you are completely relying on that as a rush and really screwing yourself on resources after 3 min. The 4:30 time is more realistic for a sustained economy after the harass. If the person has 2 marines out by then (he should) then your basically fucked.

If you build right, you can have banshees at 5:30 (and have cloak half way), and that is about as early as possible. It goes the same with mutas, once you get one you go and harass/scout.

Add him to your friends list and you can see the profile. Beats me why you can't look at it otherwise but that's how it works.

EDIT: ok, I see now, you can add him as a friend and he doesn't have to accept. You just add, look at profile, then remove him. Kindof dumb you need to do that to look at his ranking.

Anyway, he was in bronze in top 8(probably about to move to silver) I have a long way to go.

They won't know you added them as friends, and you can remove them right after you look. At the score screen just right click on their name and it opens up a menu that you can add/view from (have to go to friends list to remove).

My T5300 (1.73GHz), 2GB RAM, Intel 945 Graphics laptop runs the game on the lowest settings, but I only get about 3fps in battles.

I do not recommend this game for crappy machines

I'll try it out on my desktop later.

I got into beta with my i5 750 OC and ati 5770.

but I have been playing sc2 on my acer 1401 netbook/laptop mostly.

The cpu is struggling, gpu should be decent enough but i think the choppyness is related to the cpu. Everything is on low or off just to play online.

micro sucks bad with the choppiness but i'm still winning games. haha

Just start playing more relaxed and the ladder will take you to a league where the relaxed play is enough. Easy!

Same thing just happened to me this morning. I was in gold, working my way up from my lowest rank of 80. I was up to 47, lost a match against a copper player that had a really really fast roach rush, and suddenly im in silver league beating people down like a red headed stepchild.
