You can't quote me on this, but I believe they are better. You aren't burning tobacco with one, just heating up vapor and inhaling that. That alone should make it better. I can't comment on what chemicals are in the juice though.

I have been actually thinking about picking one of these up. No idea which ones are good.

I was concerned about lung damage going to vape. That's why I dipped instead of smoke, because I like my lungs for running. I don't believe its bad for the lungs. Vapor with no nicotine goes into the lungs and cannot be felt. Vapor with nicotine can be felt, due only to the nicotine. Nicotine has a burning/tingling effect when contacting soft tissue from my experience, be it Nicorette gum or vapor. I don't suspect this causes tissue damage. (edit for honesty, actually, I HOPE it doesn't damage tissue)

24mg? wow my heart would be jumping out of my chest.

this is the site i use to order my juice concentrate and mix it myself.

almond joy is by far my favorite. just ordered a 120ml bottle of concentrate and 120ml bottle of 6mm 50/50 unflavored base.

http://www.ecigexpress.com/

Yes, 24mg. Dipping is by far the highest nicotine delivery method there is and the salesman warned me that if I don't go strong, I won't get enough. I was skeptical, but he was right. The first 6 hours I was puffing that thing quite a lot and feeling nervous. I didn't feel quite satisfied with the 24mg, but I simply refused to dip. Its only been 12 hours and now I'm commited to the E-cig and getting along OK with it. Any less than 24mg at this point and I'd have issues.

Honestly most people I know who try to wean themselves onto the ecig fail. You just gotta bite the bullet and start full time ecig and get rid of everything else (cigs, cigars, chewing tobacco, etc) in a day or two you start getting used to the E-cig, after a week or two the ecig becomes normal to you and that's your new habit.

Yep, all or nothing for me. Amazing the thoughts that enter the mind about dipping. I ignore them and remind myself those thoughts no longer matter and aren't worth my time. I use an e-cig now.

Wow, I never realized people actually chewed tobacco anymore. I thought that was only in TV/movies from back in the day.

Do they make it taste good? Like mint or banana flavour or something? Truly curious as I don't think I've seen that stuff up here. :hmm:

There's a "vape bar" down the street from me. I keep meaning to go down there and try it out. But after quitting smoking I feel dirty walking into one of those places.

I'm currently using 20mg snus. I really like the big nicotine hit I just need to find a "less unhealthy" delivery mechanism. A pity they don't make nicotine pills like they do with caffeine.

I loved my big-hit snus. I had two strengths: normal, and ooo I like this.

It basically became my go-to "high" for all things fun. And then it became my go-to tool to try and make everything fun. And then it just felt good. :D

I quit, 100% cold turkey, because of my goddamn wisdom teeth. Got all four removed, I didn't want to fuck with the natural healing and didn't want to drag out that misery for any longer than I had to.

I used every single Vicodin pill they gave me, and I think the combination of Vicodin and the underlying misery that came with the surgery itself, helped to minimize the effects of suddenly zero nicotine entering my bloodstream.

Been free of it all since. Just like before, I still enjoy the occasional cigar or cigarillo. Been awhile though, as I've been ensuring that I could pass a nicotine piss test if I get offered a job at a no-nicotine business that does in fact test.

It has become increasingly popular from what I understand. Yes, it tastes good (as far as tobacco goes). But like any tobacco, its a habit that forms and dip is very hard to break without a good substitute due to the insane levels of nicotine that absorb into your lip for an entire 30 minutes.
Many flavors. My favorite was Grizzly Wintergreen. Second was Copenhagen Snuff.
Also, my lower lip is already healing.

Banana? Really? That is the flavor you thought of when thinking of something tasting good?

Chewing, as in literally meant to masticate the leafs? I haven't ever seen it.

But dip, be it loose or in pouches? Have you seen that?
It might be less common in Canada? Not sure.

Interesting. Maybe I'll try it at some point, though i would not like to buy a whole package.

I love a banana. You don't love a banana? What about pina coladas? Do you like them?

I don't know, you don't chew it? I can't imagine you swallow it, but if you don't chew it, then how does the good stuff get released into your body?

I think dip (moist snuff) started to get more popular with young people around here until E-cigs started to take over like crazy. Lots of people use these things. I'm quite surprised actually how fast they took off, but I do understand why.

You use it like this:

Pinch some, place in lower lip. Let it sit there. Spit out the juice. Sit down, you might get a sick head rush the first few times. Repeat. Nicotine absorbs through soft mouth tissues very fast.

I used some really nice whole leaf chew a while back. I would chew on it occasionally when I moved it to a different side of my mouth.

Apparently, they make e-cigars as well.

Also, can anyone suggest a starter kit? I'd prefer a nicotine free one, as I don't smoke very often and just particularly enjoy the act of smoking more than the taste.

Google E-cig reviews. There are countless to choose from, different styles, functionality etc. You can buy any juice you want, with or without nicotine. If you have a local tobacco shop, try there as well. I took a gamble on a shop near me and they did me right.

I can tell you what I have and what you would need. I am happy with mine and I find it very stylish. I charge it via USB on my comp, so this is exceedingly cool.

I use Cope pouches snuff. No flavoring for me. I used to dip skoal longcut but that stuff is too sweet for me now. And I don't spit. I think after my 4th of July camping trip I might just try to quit.

Have you tried just not using nicotine (assuming this e cig you're using still contains the stuff)?

Yes and its very uncomfortable. The idea is to use weaker and weaker juice and taper off nicotine while using the E-cig. Before long you are smoking nothing but flavored vapor and at that point you can take it or leave it since the physical addiction is gone.
A friend of mine just finished his tapering down to no nicotine using an E-cig. He was a smoker of over 20 years and he barely even uses the E-cig at all with no nicotine now.
