they are satisfied because of 3 things:

placebo effect - . People like to think that $$=better sound

they haven't heard anything else that is better

marketing - marketing tells them they've got the best, and it costs alot as well


I'm curious jediyoda, have you actually heard a decent set of headphones/speakers other than bose? Please get your head out of your ass and at least back up your own posts. Try comparing a ****** headphone like the QC2 or the Triports with something of comprable cost, such as the Grado SR line, Sennheiser's 580/600/650 line, AKG's K501/K601/701 line, or even beyerdynamic's dt770/880/990 line. Hell, just compare them to Koss KSC-75s and hear the difference.

Just because a company is in buisness does not make their speakers "good just expensive".

Why are they making money? Because they advertise well and get good word of mouth, even from people who don't own it. Why is Monster cables making money? Because they advertise like mad and they get people to buy into their claims.

Every company has satisfied customers, there are some people that are satisfied with their Saturn Ions. Does that mean that they are great cars? No, of course not.

There motto is "Better sound through research". Sound great to the uninformed consumer, but if they are doing so much research, why have their speaker systems remained unchanged for the past who knows how many years?

And yet everytime I expect a logical reply from you all I hear back is that you are tired of 13 year old mentalities. You have COMPLETELY and UTTERLY changed your argument since I posted that article. In case you forgot, we are discussing the following comment you made:

Now, you can argue all you want that he should get his mom what she wants; That is completely opinion based. However, your claim that BOSE speakers are a "Very good product but expensive" is one that can be discussed via facts and research.

Again I will say, satisifed customers does not make a speaker system a very good one. Satisfied customers can come from a number of facts including perceived value, looks, and expectations. Just because someone has heard only their BOSE system and thinks it sounds better than the sound system they had before it does not make the speakers excellent.

As for your second discussion about Antec PSU's, most here will say that they are excellent PSU's when they work. I can not say the same for BOSE speakers. Whether they work or not, they are not up to very high standards.

PLEASE tell us what you find wrong about the article and PROVE to us that bose speakers are "very good but expensive"

And I don't think I am an expert by a long shot. There are many people that have more experience than me. For instance, the DIYers at htguide.com are amazing. I do think, however, that I have enough experience to be able to argue a point.
