There were LOTS of posts about being "god-like" for the last 30% of the game. I dont mind dying. Hate frustration. God mode (think back ala DOOM 1 LOL) =Booooring.

Like right now; walking back to town and offing Whelps and pups...
Is worse than a grind.

But, I am taking the game as a slice of enjoyment. IF I should level up to be too powerful for the bosses. Their tough luck. :sneaky:

you could always just hop on a racer and squish everything that's in your way. that's what I do when going back and forth to the lower level areas.

be careful, though. the tougher areas--esp. in playthrough 2--will spawn badass skagg and spiderants or whatever that will explode your racer if you smash into them. ....also look out for barrels submerged in water. this has happened to me a few times, heh.

as for Eridian weapons--I haven't found much use for them. I suppose leveling the skill up will make them worthwhile, but on my siren now at Max level and done with all the main DLC missions and such, trying to use them on anything would make me dead rather quickly. The power supply drains almost instantly and is dead for too long.

I get sick of the whittling them down on SMG, then switching to x weapon for the kill and level. :\

the only Eridian that I have liked is the lightning. I think this is the sniper rifle class. it does drain power quickly, but I like how holding the trigger down keeps the ray draining health on your target.

You know, I never really had the problem where a single badmotha would take out my racer. If I ran into a lot of them, they could destroy it, but it was always more than one. One time I ran into a queen with only 250 or so energy left on my shields... that was a bad idea :p.

So I think I'm done with this game. At least for a while.
I played though all of the main story content with some side quests. Siren's at lvl 66 now, and farming the gift shop for that perfect SMG.

I thought about making another char (a soldier specifically), but kinda got bored of it around level 10 or so.

I might come back to this game later on to finish up my soldier, but I think I'm going to find a different game to occupy myself for a while.

I think it was an accumulation of damage that I hadn't noticed. I was smashing into a pile of critters taking a little bit of damage at a time, then I hit a badmotha or whatever--probably a fire one--and blew me to pieces.

That one area in Rust Commons West, I think--on the way to Tannis--you can take that path through the river that goes under a bridge and is littered with corrosive barrels that you have to dodge. those have killed me one.

Also, I think this was near that large damn near the entrance to Krom's canyon--I respawned outside there and grabbed a racer to head somewhere else. Ran into a similar alleyway that had gatling guns mounted up and behind, didn't notice them before. They were laying into me faster than I realized, then as I was turning the corner to get away, smashed right into a barrel. BOOM!

Haha, I've hit those same barrels in the past (both of those locations). Although, I find that I tend to teleport within a zone more now (Underpass is close to Tannis) or I just use primary fire to destroy the barrels.

Speaking of going to Tannis... anyone else just jump up the wall with the chest rather than fight those annoying spiderants? Really don't like spiderants!

The Eridian sniper rifle is nice, if a bit limited.
The shotgun (I think it is called thunder) is reall nice at close range. I think it might be one of the most powerful one shot guns in the game.

you can jump up that wall? I should try that. I hate spiderants.

Yeah, get on the rock pile on the right side of the wall and jump onto the very slight ledge. Then jump into the crevice between the stone and the ridge. You should be able to jump up onto the ledge then. Sometimes you'll seem stuck, but eventually you'll get up.

I find that a good damage Double Anarchy, if possible, with a 12ish fire rate, makes short thing of just about any spiderants. I'm getting that achievements of 25 kills in succession on their account every time. There's a place where they don't seem to stop spawning in the Rust Commons West, next to the Underpass and the place where a big flucking Rakk is spawning when you find one of Tannis's journals.

It's skags I hate, especially their Alpha ones and their bull-like behaviour.

i hate both skaggs and spiderants equally. skaggs, b/c they keep me kiting and shooting at the dirt. spiderants, b/c they just keep spawning. singly, spiderants are no problem as yes--the double anarchy obliterates them. it's just that they keep popping out of the dirt and don't stop.

but, on a class like hunter, you don't have the ability to daze them easily and strafe around to their weak spots so quickly. I'm determined to stick to pistols on my Hunter, so they are an entirely different problem than they were with my Siren.

Scythids are just about as annoying with the popping out and how they never seem to stop coming. They're easy as hell to kill... if you have a weapon with a good spread or really good aim... mostly referring to the really small ones. Although, they're very susceptible to physical damage (melee, or non-elemental weapon).

I actually recall why I don't like Zombie Island of Dr. Ned... almost everything is like a Scythid or Spiderant... they just pop out of the ground and come at you from all directions :\. I ended up beating it tonight (it's shorter than I remember...). It's pretty ridiculous how fast a boss dies to a physical damage revolver. I bought an epic Masher (decent stats) and just held the trigger down. I wouldn't mind finding a Masher with a faster reload speed or a larger clip. Heck, just give me a Jakob's Unforgiven Masher :D.

Yes, it raises the chance per bullet, which in turn can alter the amount of time the enemy is slowed for. If you're really unlucky, the Mind Games effect may not proc at all, which as I mentioned, it has happened to me with 5/5. It's not terribly common, which makes sense given the number of bullets fired compared to the chance to proc on each bullet, but it can occur. Whether this will severely harm you or not is also up in the air. Usually it won't since it's only maybe 1-2s without the slowing effect.
At one time I did try it with 5 but most of the normal enemies died pretty quick and the daze wasn't doing me much good. Now I did have gear that I moved from my other guys for her. At just 1 it seems to trigger when fighting a bad ases / bosses and if I get in trouble just go inviso to heal & find cover. Inner Glow plus Hit & Run sync up real good for this.

Any Eridian weapons worth mentioning?
The only one I've used is the sniper one. Found 2 that were pretty close to the same damage. While going through the area where you fight quite a few I'd just swap back & forth between them.

^I was thinking of getting one to drop the shields on Badass Lance troops, I finally found myself a SES corrosive sniper, with 2.7 FR that becomes almost automatic with relentless, it makes things easy enough with Knoxx and his ballerinas especially since the Hunter also has the ability of ignoring shields.

I remember finding a blue code Eridian cannon, whatever that is and I was just wondering if there are higher code weapons to be found. Having a slot or two blocked by such weapons though isn't very peachy IMO, especially on higher levels where it gets crowded with enemies having corrosive/fire/blue shields.

Also, I don't quite use any zap guns, incendiary or corrosive are more than enough at this point.

i believe that during co-op--everyone gets the same drops. what you see on your screen is what they see on theirs, and it's essentially your own reserved copy of the same items. same with chests.

well, that's how n7 explained it to me.

the loot increases in quality and amount the more people you team up with, to.

Wha?

If an enemy drops a gun in multiplayer, there's only one gun.
If you open a chest with two guns in a four player game, there are only a total of two guns to go around.

The only thing that's a "copy" is rewards for missions, etc. Those everyone gets.

The unfortunate thing about multiplayer is that there are loot ninjas sometimes who race in & grab the good boss drop gun, etc.
Hence why i don't really play online much unless i know the people...

oh damn, I didn't get that at all. I was thinking "are you seeing what I'm seeing" meant more than what it simply implies, haha. I didn't realize that it also meant "that is all there is between the two of us."

damn, that blows.

All they need to do is increase drop number per player added, and have them dropped as reserved items--only X player can pick up X item. randomly assigned, of course.

Hell, the Bloodwing thing already has a "drop extra items" function. It's not like they can't do that.

Funny, for all the praise and glory heaped on this game regarding multiplayer, I'm only experiencing a lot of bad. (you already know my dismay with the team/friend.whatever chat system, lol)

With the right friends (especially @ a LAN), it's incredibly fun.

I actually never had much interest in the game when it was announced, released, etc.

Quite a while later i finally got it & tried out the single player & stopped playing around 5 levels in, as i didn't really get it & didn't really understand the style of the game as i have no experience with RPGs.

Then one LAN night with friends we got playing it, & spent all night till like 6 in the morning going @ it, & i was hooked :D

Of course, as i love the game now, i enjoy playing it single player or multiplayer, but it really does shine when having a blast with friends.

Unfortunately, the friends/chat/social aspect they've implemented is absolutely horrible.
Also, this really isn't the easiest game to make games with randoms work out so well, as there are too many idiots out there sadly, which is very problematic in a game like this.

It took me a while, but i found that exact maxed out one eventually.

'Course, now it's no good compared to all the higher level ones.

I have the maxed out level 68 version as well :)

You should come Craw-farming with me sometime...you tend to see lots of great shields over time, actually, pretty much every single one maxed eventually if you do it enough.

I'm going to have to spend 2 hour or so sorting and cleaning out my inventory from that run. :D

also going to say fuck it and just boost my inventory and storage slots with Willowtree.

It's one thing to try and be somewhat realistic by limiting your storage space--but when the game allows you to get up to 62? legit slots, and 71 or so if you're lucky, it makes no sense, to me, to not just give yourself as many as you want. Your'e already a walking weapons depot, so why not take the Final Fantasy route and go infinite inventory and storage space?
:\

Doesn't Final Fantasy usually have limited storage space for items? It's really high though, so you usually never hit it. Games like Borderlands or Diablo typically have limited space, but you are right in that it's silly how you can lose so many potential spaces in playthrough 2 because the Backpack SDU is random.

My Siren feels so limited at 42 slots :\.

I've mostly been playing my Hunter (level 43) as of late. I'll get on my Siren later tonight and finish Knoxx at least.

zinfamous & I & a friend leveled some lower toons to 35 (finished PT1) this afternoon, pretty good times :)

I remember the older ones, at least, having unlimited slots, or maybe, some 100 or 200 slots with stackable items up to 99 each.
