So I finished normal mode on my Siren. I sorta cheated...
I ended up dying and then just dropping down and hanging back right behind the rocks where you drop into the Warrior room where nothing could hit me.

I gotta say two things...

#1 - the ending absolutely sets Borderlands up for a sequel. Hell, it sets it up for a MMO sequel perfectly at that..

#2 - I was slightly pissed after killing the warrior and going through all the loot that dropped to find there was an artifact that was UNDER part of the warrior that I couldn't reach. It was a rare, and I couldn't even get an ID on what stats it had, and it wouldn't let me pick it up. Jerk.

Soloing 2.5 with my Siren is an exercise in frustration. I am convinced that some areas in the game, i.e. Opportunity are not solo-able with siren without dying at least once. The missiles from the bad-asses kill you near instantly, you don't even have time to react. I tried various builds and cheated with golden keys but, but your only allowed so much shield and health so it doesn't really matter - so I am fed up. I am wondering of explosive immunity or damage reduction would help.

I will try to max out a mechromancer and see if I have better luck.

I leveled up a Gunzerker so I could give him some of the loot that I've been hoarding. Man, it's really nice not having to build up stacks of Anarchy before I can even attempt to do anything! I've been leaving Borderlands 2 running all weekend with full stacks of Anarchy just so I wouldn't have to build it up again. Although, when Borderlands 2 crashed on me in Opportunity (surprise!), I was already done (and lost no progress), so I was able to turn the game off finally. :p

So I finished normal mode on my Siren. I sorta cheated...

I found the Warrior to be a bit of a joke on my Mechromancer; I don't think the Warrior even hit me. I might have been a few levels over you though. A few levels in this game definitely makes a ridiculous difference in lowering the damage you take, and raising the damage they take (actually reduces their damage reduction to your damage).

#1 - the ending absolutely sets Borderlands up for a sequel. Hell, it sets it up for a MMO sequel perfectly at that..

I really hope they don't ruin it with a MMO. Especially with Gearbox's track record in fixing bugs, a MMO is definitely not the best route for them to go.

I've had that happen with a lot of large mobs. I believe the corpses will typically disappear before the loot, so if you wait, you should be able to get it. I definitely think working on how loot drops would be smart. I remember killing Bloodwing and I had loot go flying off like a comet. I just said, "I really hope that wasn't something good...."

It's not much different for me as a Mechromancer, but from what I've seen, you simply cannot get hit by stuff. Also, very few enemies fire missiles (Super Badass Loader, Constructor 2.0). I'm only in playthrough 2, but I'm at about the same level range as you would be in 2.5 (enemies are either my level or above). When I was in Opportunity on my Mechromancer, I had to duck around corridors, wait for Super Badass Loaders to shoot off their stuff, duck back out, and fire. What made it worse is that almost every time I had a Super Badass Loader... I also had a Badass Loader at the same time!

EDIT 2:

To note, most enemies do have audible warnings as to when they're about to do something nasty. Although, it can be kinda hard to hear at times.

Yeah, I have problems with the RPG loaders in particular, and some of the other loaders have a tendency to 1-shot me deep into the health bar. For what it's worth, I use an adaptive resist shield too. Normally against things like constructors and whatnot, I just either die and respawn far away or hang back and snipe the crit out of them from really far away where none of the missiles can reach.

Also, as a siren, I found I don't go anywhere without leech grenades. Between them and sweet release, I can usually handle a firefight.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it would be a good thing (though if properly done maybe). I'm just saying how they presented the end, it doesn't really set it up in such a way as to just move on to the next "chapter" of the story IMHO. That's all.

Yeah, I have problems with the RPG loaders in particular, and some of the other loaders have a tendency to 1-shot me deep into the health bar.

I've mostly found that Hot Loaders, RPG Loaders, Sgt Loaders, and Angelic Loaders cause the most damage... especially when I am really close to Hot Loaders, because they blow up! Pwr Loaders, Gun Loaders, Bull Loaders and Lwt Loaders are just a joke. :p The Badass and Super Badass Loaders aren't too bad, but you just have to hide... a lot. Well, the problem is that hiding all the time isn't very exciting, and spending forever to kill a mob is just a huge waste of ammo. I have this sweet Vladof pistol (high damage, high fire rate, quick reload, large magazine, scoped), but I can expend 500 out of 700 bullets just killing a Super Badass Loader and that's with swapping to a Slag SMG to increase damage.

For what it's worth, I use an adaptive resist shield too. Normally against things like constructors and whatnot, I just either die and respawn far away or hang back and snipe the crit out of them from really far away where none of the missiles can reach.

I do like Adaptive shields, but I have a hard time finding a good one. What I use depends a bit on my class too. If I have any way of regenerating shields through kills or anything, I'll probably focus more on shields that provide excessive amounts of shield. So, Turtle shields are usually pretty popular with me! I'm actually using one right now that I found on a vendor.

Also, as a siren, I found I don't go anywhere without leech grenades. Between them and sweet release, I can usually handle a firefight.

I love me some Transfusion grenades! To note, The Leech is a specific legendary Maliwan grenade. I found one randomly in Sawtooth Cauldron, but it wasn't very good. :( I'm really picky and either prefer Homing Transfusion or Longbow Transfusion.

By itself, I don't think it provides a segway for much at all. It really just leaves it very open-ended. They could easily write a story that gives us new characters (gotta have variety) on another planet that has a vault on it. Although, is it true that vaults are all prisons for creatures? The Warrior may have been more of a weapon, but it was still a creature being contained.

Transfusion is nice but the damage on them is just so low. Against the right enemies the persistent AoE nades can be pretty powerful, work really well against Constructors and SBA Loaders which hardly move.

Yeah, the HOT loaders are the worst of the bunch. For some reason they just rip through me. There are a couple loaders that are just ridiculously durable too - like the ION Loaders.

I don't really have much issue with any of the loaders now. PWR Loaders are annoying if you don't get them right away because they deflect your shots (though as a siren that's easy to mitigate), so you have to aim for their feet. I pretty much always use corrosive weapons against all the loaders, so that makes it easy anyway.

The key with ALL the loaders, especially WAR and RPG Loaders and Badass Loaders is to hit the crit points early. I have this one pistol which does 400% crit/corrosive damage, so it gets kind of ridiculous in a hurry.

- First, hitting the crit points does massive damage, so on most regular loaders two hits with my nice pistol kills em.
- Second, the crit points are usually the shoulder joints, which essentially cripples the loader's damage output, especially for RPG, WAR and Badass loaders. They have almost nothing left to shoot at you with so you can just go to town after that.

Once I learned to always aim for the shoulder joints on the loaders, things got way easier.

You got me. I'm just going by the story line that the vaults were created by an alien race for an unknown purpose.

Don't feel bad. Last night I was with 3 other 50's and we ran through Warrior in about 30 seconds. The only damage I took was when he died and fell on top of me! o_O Insta-death.

I was trying to do this as well but I think my Cat mod was hurting me. IMO it doesn't really make sense to boost Mind's Eye while also decreasing your accuracy. I am curious what mod you are using?

Uh, I think I'm still using one I found way back at like level 15 or something that boosts Helios and Reaper along with action skill cooldown. I really haven't found anything better since.

I was using one that put a couple points in Sweet Release, but ended up respeccing and manually putting a couple points into Sweet Release and dumping all my points down the Cataclysm tree. I'm going to go back now that I'm done (level 31?) with Cataclysm and start putting more points in Harmony.

I've had a hard time finding a good class mod. In the first game, it was easy to find a good one, because they all benefited you. In Borderlands 2, a lot of them have negative effects, and there doesn't seem to be a clear cut best. On my Siren, I'm using the Fire Rate class mod with Kinetic Reflection. I recently found a level 44 one with Kinetic Reflection and something else, but my siren is only level 30. :p

My Mechromancer uses the Prodigy (+reload speed, +accuracy) with the fire rate and health regen talent. I have another one similar to that with better stat bonuses, but it has the fire rate and elemental effect chance boost instead. I rather like the health regen talent, so I'd rather not lose it. The Anarchist class mod may seem like the best, but I think the talents that it boosts are just awful.

Yeah, the HOT loaders are the worst of the bunch. For some reason they just rip through me. There are a couple loaders that are just ridiculously durable too - like the ION Loaders.

I've found that Hot Loaders aren't too bad if you strafe the whole time. Their attacks seem to be more like napalm as they have a pretty decent AoE radius, which is why always moving sideways works well. Ion Loaders seem to lack the joint crit points from what I can tell, and there doesn't seem to be a way to break their shield? I mean... you can run in there, but it will deal shock damage to you, and shock weapons don't do anything.

If I remember correctly, an explosive weapon or E-Tech corrosive will work well against a Pwr Loader. Explosive will explode when it hits their spining arms and still deal damage to them, and I believe corrosive will still deal damage as well. I know that I've just swapped to my Corrosive E-Tech SMG quite a few times when they popped up. Although, that's a level 34-or-so weapon, and it's getting a bit long in the tooth at level 44!

Yeah, hitting crit points isn't that easy with a Mechromancer with 300+ stacks of Anarchy. :p I do end up hitting the crit points with a rapid fire weapon, but it isn't too often since the bullets fly all over. I recall a few fights (the game threw quite a few Super Badass Loader + Badass Loader + Super Badass Shielded Surveyor combos at me) where I knocked off at least one arm off of them before they died.

 That pistol sounds rather nice!

Huh. I could swear they deflected everything, which is why I just started aiming for their feet. They have enough of a gap between the propellers and the ground that it's fairly easy to get clean shots in, though maybe not as a mechromancer, but for every other class it should be fine.

I know explosive works well against BUL loaders and shield-wielding bandits. I <3 my 1200 damage rocket torpedo I found back at like level 25. As an aside, BUL Loaders are funny as hell if you manage to crit their arms off before they can get their shield up. Only thing is then they stand around firing off Ion bolts that REALLY FUCKING HURT.

Yeah, I came across a Super Badass Loader on the way down to the Warrior vault last night. It was kind of funny because I had perfect position right behind some covers as I saw it getting constructed - I pulled out my corrosive sniper rifle and blew off one of it's arms before it even got a shot off, then picked off the other arm playing peek-a-boo for a few seconds later. I let it live for quite some time while I took out all the other Hyperion troops and loaders around it.

Yeah, I'll have to screenshot it. It's very nice. I can't remember what make it is - might be hyperion, but base damage is like 300+, decent accuracy for having a fast refire (like 93 or something) and a good clip size (30-something?). But it increases accuracy as you fire down to a really REALLY tight spread, like so tight there's almost no sway at all when zoomed in. Then the 400% crit and something like 280 corrosive damage with a decent chance to trigger. It's like a poor-man's SMG with better stats. At first I thought it kind of sucked compared to what I was using (actually lower damage), but I decided to give it a try - between the high refire, the increasing accuracy and the HUGE crit bonus, yeah. There's just no reason not to use it.

I found siren to be fairly easy, compared to salvador.

I used mostly Harmony build. Minds Eye, Wreck, Sustance, Restoration all maxed, a few in elated, 1 in sweet release, 1 in res(optional if you dabble in co-op), and Scorn. The rest were spread out in motion, and a few in Foresight. This gives a character that can solo or jump into coop with no skill changes or playstyle changes at all.

Spend half the time sniping, the other half running in guns blazing once you get something PL'd. Rinse and repeat.

Scorn is a pretty awesome skill. huge area of effect, will slag things for you, blow up most barrels instantly, weaken gas tanks, shoot down most missles (i.e. a constructers nuke), do slight damage to things (which is very useful if you have some bandits sniping from a distance/stalkers cloaking, etc and you can't pick them out, just throw out scorn and start looking for where the purple #'s are spitting from), and finally you can use it in FFYL.

Sorry for grammer, and punctuation, as I am in a hurry.

Finally finished normal playthrough last night. Game is awesome. Main story is awesome and the npc chatter is pretty damn funny. I'm going to try to finish some side missions and some challenges before i try out true vault hunter mode.

Has anyone here been able to beat Hyperius or Master Gee?

I've come close with both but come up short. It is hard to jump into random games and get 3 other 50's that know what they're doing.

I have not been able to beat hyperious, but I only tried twice. First time was with another person and we didn't know the strategy so we got murdered. Second time I was able to get the bots down twice, but he just goes crazy on me, and my siren doesn't have the greatest gear and to take him down solo (I need a good babymaker, and tediore relic). I even tried cheesing it by using the hiding behind the pipe tactic, but gave up on that idea.

Maybe my zerker could do it? but I've lost interest (due to frustration) and gone back to farming and starting new characters via random co-op games.

Haven't done gee yet.
