New level cap today....has anyone bought it yet?

I bought it, tried it out. For solo players level 61 its not that bad. Did it solo and with a group of 4. Definitely easier with 4 people. Since I am just level 62 atm did not get a chance to try out the overlevel nonsense.

well, that's good to know. I'm the only person that I know that plays games...so outside of random people that join me on steam (mostly ATers, and I'm not sure which of you guys are those :D), I usually have to solo these things--plus, I like my own pace anyway, as I afk a ton. scheduling to do these things with people, you often feel like you are stuck for some time. ....not that I don't like co-op.

Anyhoo, off to see if leveling has changed for me (hopefully slightly better XP scaled to my level, now further below cap...)

Siren is about to hit 60, and I think I'm about to finish Hammerlock (yes, this DLC is kinda meh--but luckily it's quite short). I'm guessing I should work on Tiny Tina before dealing with digistruct. Next highest character is the level 36 Zer0. that will be a while....

I'm becoming increasingly bummed learning that in late game, so much of what the Siren is designed to do is completely obsolete. Yes, people have been saying this and I've been reading it, but it never sinks in until I see it for myself. All elemental effects more or less useless, and to the point where many of them will simply get you killed--blight phoenix and sometimes Helios if you are standing next to a barrel when it pops. (I haven't really specced into those in some time--only last couple of runs to test if they would actually activate on Badassaures's crit points...alas, they do not)

Even ignoring an elemental build, most of the skills are completely dependent on phaselock. If you target something that is immune, and/or is not surrounded by adds (fucking late game bosses) bye bye wreck, bye bye chain reaction, umm...well, bye bye every other skill as well because they are kill dependent. and those damn witchdoctors in hammerlock that just jump out of phaselock for well...just because? Yes, you can target the adds around them, but why do they keep adding content that essentially nulls the main function of one class? I don't get it...

Much of the game is still a pile of mobs, which is great for siren. All I really need to do is phaselock to converge and slag about 6 or so targets then blast them with my Lasceux (I've got 8-9 points in Wreck, depending on the mod, plus 89% SMG damage, so that's nice)--by the way--why does no one talk about this gun all that much on the BL forums? it's fracking amazing for this type of Siren build, and the spread is actually more of a benefit than a detriment in nearly all situations. Is it because it is way too easy to get, and therefore non-leet?


I am coming to the conclusion after about a dozen quick and pointless deaths, Badassasauras is impossible to solo with a Siren, on UVHM, anyway. Essentially your entire skill tree is useless in that fight--on top of just about every bullet you fire bouncing back to hit you.
Hiding behind the wall doesn't really do anything--I still get hit by the fire rockets more than half the time, while crouching. You can almost never get an angle on a crit barrell, at least not long enough before it spins back around and blasts you.

The community has been bitching about the siren skills (for good reason) for over a year now and finally gearbox has said they are looking into it.

Lascuex is awesome, but its not a legendary so it doesnt get much love

I think they did this with the update last week--based on the date of that video, anyway.

You can still go in and out, but the gate is closed about 70%, so you have to crawl under to get into the arena. It definitely prevents cheesing it with grenades tossed at that angle. All you can do is wedge yourself between the gate and the concrete wall with little room to move or peek up. The fire balls are rather difficult to avoid, or at least heal from.

EDIT: I see that he has Pete the Invincible active as a quest, so maybe the gate is up when you want to farm him, after beating him the first time.

Bought the DL version while xbox live had it on sale little while back but just now got back to playing. I'm playing offline without the patches to continue to use the ammo+smasher glitches while I finish getting all to level 50.

I've got some questions about the shift code gold keys. I've been thinking of logging in long enough to redeem as many codes that will work but was wondering if all the keys will all be attached to the first char I load or are they part of my profile so I can use them for whichever char I choose? Also will they disappear if I clear the cache to go back to using the glitches offline?

shift keys are account based, so all your characters will share the same total number.

not sure about how that stuff works on xbox, but on PC you can set the profile.ini file in your saves folder to "read only" before loading the game, eat up your keys, then close the game and turn off "read only." All your keys + items are back when you load again.

of course, i don't have the explosion buffs so this took a lot longer and a shit-load more money, but that asshole went down.


I don't mind cheesing it, or giving myself torgue tokens to save and quit jsut to spawn and buy some orange grenades (seriously...i could grind the bar fight as i have been doing, for about 3 more hours....but I'm not going to. fuck that. I'll give myself tokens)

I had already just spent 3 million trying to fight that woundsalk think near the end of hammerlock. Yes, there was rage...I eventually cheesed it, spent my millions in death, but at that point, yeah I'll give myself tokens to kill this robodinosaur that has already eaten my cash. screw you, lack-of-balancing-assholes-at-Gearbox! :colbert:

Yeah, weird. They changed the orcz site to 3, although I don't know when. Honestly I have so many keys I didn't even check when I added them. I'll edit my post to correct it though.

Signed up for Shift last night to try out some of the codes that are in the orcz link that was posted previously.

Entered in codes for the class mods, got a message that I would get them on the first char I loaded but I didn't get them. I don't have any of the DLC besides UVH, are these mods tied to one of the other DLCs?

I also did the one for the Transformer shield with other gear which did show up in my inventory. Along with a couple of the key codes that worked also.

The class mods are unique to the Tiny Tiny DLC, so I guess you need to have that DLC for the reward(s).

yep. They also spawn at whatever level the character is that gets them. They can also range from white to purple rarity. I got a purple for Gunzerker and Psycho (I haven't bought that package), and a white one for my main, Siren. :|
