I got a similar one from the slot machines at Moxxi's. Minus the scope and the "knife", lower level too. That thing was tearing through things like crazy! Not anymore (too low level now). The red text apparently adds a chance that each shot will be one of the elemental ones - fits Maya very well :)

I'm not 100% sure how certain aspects of weapon generation work in Borderlands 2. I think there's either scope or no scope, as I've never found a difference in scope powers unless determined by the red text or through something else. However, this assault rifle seems to have as good of a scope as my sniper rifle. I haven't seen the elemental shot capability though.

With Critical Ascension and Deception, Zer0 can farm BNK3R in like 10 shots with a decent corrosive rifle, especially if it bursts while zoomed. I love this game :D

...I went back into Borderlands 1 earlier, and I definitely really miss some of my weapons. It's ridiculous how accurate most of my SMGs were, which was probably due to the weapon proficiency and the weapon's natural high accuracy (for a SMG). Add into that the ridiculously fast reload speeds... those weapons are ridiculously awesome! :D

But is that a fair comparison? Didn't you get those guns farming Crawmerax and other DLC? Here we have just vanilla.

I do miss weapon proficiency though.

I found this nifty, legendary Razor Hammer Buster assault rifle earlier. I almost did a double take, because it's so rare for me to see a legendary, and have it be good. Although, I would much prefer a lower reload speed on it, but it's okay given the damage is considerably higher than anything else that I'm using.

Was that from a regular enemy? Slot machine? or ?

Pretty nice, especially useable at lvl 25. I've yet to find an orange item, except as a quest reward, the firehawk shield (not sure the actual name).

So, I get the feeling that some great Pandorian deity heard how much we were smack talking E-Tech weapons, and I ended up getting the only decent E-Tech weapon to drop!

I got a corrosive Homering Dart. Large magazine (it is Bandit after all), fast reload and it fires homing bullets. The latter helps negate the fact that E-Tech bullets are sooooooo slow.

I think it's a fair comparison, because they're not necessarily super, duper weapons. Most of my SMGs are just blues, but I do have a Combustion Hellfire (who doesn't? :p). What makes them so good is that with the fast reloads, high accuracy, low recoil, low spread with constant firing (this is the other accuracy) and decent to high damage numbers, the weapons are just ridiculously strong.

Thankfully, I'm finally done in Maya's Motion tree, and I'm working on Cataclysm. Well, actually mostly the reload speed talent in Cataclysm, because I could really use boosted reload numbers. I've only put two points into it so far, but it seems to be making a pretty big difference.

I got when I killed McNally while on the side-quest The Bane. It's a quest where you track down a cursed SMG.

Personally I have had a great deal of success with a Maliwan Consummate Plasma Caster, an E-Tech SMG. For its level (30) the damage is unreal, and the ammo usage isn't a huge problem due to bullet regeneration during gunserking.

At least according to his entry in the Borderlands Wiki, McNally has a small chance of dropping the gun that I found: http://www.bl2wiki.com/McNally

That's probably the biggest problem for me right now... I don't have any bullet regeneration. :(

I think I had one of those Maliwan E-Tech guns, but I found that the bullets were still a little too slow, and that's with my bullet velocity talent maxed.

EDIT:

Haha! Now I know why the people that got Bane went insane... the weapon talks to you while you're using it. It screeches like a banshee while you're shooting and shouts things like "REEEEEEELOADING!" If you've played WoW, just think of Sinestra from Icecrown Citadel, and I apologize for making you think of her horrid voice.

Actually, it looks like someone has a video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PB1CJ0l8kAc

Mine's a little different as it has a scope and such.

Guys, how does one recognize "E-Tech" weapons? I got a shotty that does some sick dmg (3x1800), shoots 3 "fireballs" and rips everything to pieces (especially with maxed Catalyst tree). Is that an "E-tech" gun?

You can tell by the pinkish/purple color of the letters used in the gun's name, and the little gun icon on the lower right corner of the info pic. Nice gun!

Yes, that's an E-Tech weapon. Unfortunately, the color is pretty close to the Epic purple color, but you can tell if it's more of a neon pink. The only complaint that I would have about that weapon would be its reload time is so long, but I just got a Deputy Badge relic that reduces shotgun reload time by ~40%. That would probably help that thing out tremendously! (Especially coupled with Maya's other reload talent(s).)

EDIT:

Although, considering the magazine is so damned large, it probably doesn't matter that the reload time is so long! :$

Thanks guys!

I don't mind the reload time - when I'm out of ammo, either most things around are dead already and if not I switch to another gun and finish whatever's still alive :p Phaselock with maxed Catalyst tree + class mod with burn chance/dmg +3 Helios (for a total of 8/5!) = win :D

Kinda near Moxxi's. Look for the dollar sign $ on the map, and you should find it. It has a purplish glow about the building. His door is closed, and he just opens this little slide-open thing so you can see his eyes/part of his face, to speak with you.

Pulled that guy out of my gold chest, it's a good 6000 points higher than any other launcher I've found.

Been rocking that shotgun as of late(got a slag variant for special times), and it basically turns anything into a pool of red up close.

And my work horse sniper, may not look like much but hit a crit on just about anything right now (lvl 25) and it goes down in 1 shot.

What class(es) are you guys playing, and at what level(s)?

I've currently got a lvl 32 Assassin (1st character), lvl 15 Siren (3rd char), lvl 11 Gunzerker (2nd char), and lvl 10 Commando (4th char).

Is the Do No Harm mission broken? It's checked off and I've talked to Tannis but no reward and I assume it leads to other missions.
I'm a completist and it's bugging the hell out of me.

For some, yes.
You did something out of order, now it won't let you complete it.
There's a way to fix it using a secondary account, but not sure about a proper fix yet. I read about this last week, so there may be one.

Can anyone tell me whether Borderlands 1 with DLCs is worth playing after playing Borderlands 2? Some people are saying that the 1st is better.

To me, it is roughly the same game with less polish, less story (Angel at some point tells you the entire story of BL1 in 30 seconds), a little less humor, and less PC compatibility. Still a lot of fun, though.

Finished the first playthrough last night with my friends, overall BL2 was really good but the ending kind of fell flat. For what was the culmination of a ton of 'rising action' the final [story] boss just wasn't that exciting/interesting. Personally I feel like the
"Angel" battle was way way better; Jack's tangible frustration, his begging, his threats, Roland and Lilith's interference; I thought that all worked together to make an awesome, intense fight. The Warrior looked cool, but both he and Jack were pretty bland to fight and fell quickly. And finishing off Jack felt like it deserved a cutscene. Also "more vaults" kind of lame but if they tie them together into something ultimately greater (who put them there, for what purpose, etc) I think it'll turn out alright, at the face of things each vault symbol just looked like another expansion though.

I think a "Jack's Story" DLC could be really cool. For being such a despicable villain, he's also a really compelling character. A lot of this is touched on by various ECHOs in the game, but telling the full story of his family, his rise in Hyperion, his mask, his role in BL1, the events between BL1 and BL2 would be something I'd really like to see.

A menu feature to go back and listen to previous ECHOs (maybe an ECHO-LOG or something, might show all possible ECHOs in an area to locate) would be appreciated. I missed a lot of them as we'd all track down various quest objectives at the same time and they'd end up overlapping, so we missed quite a bit along the way.

My only problem with the ending was
the whole "Oh look, more vaults, we better deal with them" thing. Everything we've seen so far has been "Vaults contain monsters". Why go search for them when something large tries to kill you every time you open one?

OK, well, there's that and the whole 'Jack dies in 1 shot' execution. I was still pissed about bloodwing, and shot him in the knee, figuring I could work my way up.

There's nothing in BL1 that's worth playing after BL2. There's no story to really catch up on, and almost everything was an improvement in BL2. Some people don't like the change in some classes but that's just because they were used to the old way. IMO people who think the first is better just remember it fondly because it was fresh and new. BL2 is very much more of the same so the honeymoon was over, so to speak.

I actually loaded up BL yesterday just for kicks and it feels like a number of steps backwards relative to BL2. Sprinting felt much less smooth, the world looked duller and uglier and I just didn't feel like staying in game for very long. I agree that BL was good for it's time but BL2 pretty much trumps it straight up; ultimately you aren't missing much as it had far less story to it so everything you need to know can be gleaned from BL2.
