Just for clarification.From everything I have read:
1. There was no screen door. There was a locked interior wood door which Lester unlocked and opened and there was also a locked glass storm door which Lester did not unlock.

2. There was no knocking. There was a doorbell which Ralph rang.

Sorry, storm door, whichever... those are still hard to get someone's attention through. At this point I'm assuming he just rang the doorbell, assumed it didn't work when nobody answered, and was going to knock on the actual door.

Parsons is complaining that Biden is "politicizing" the situation by anticipating inviting the victim to the Oval Office. That in itself is politicizing. :rolleyes: Whining SOB should do something to stop the violence instead of complaining.

Unless things spiral out of control, I figure, at least "for the time being." But look, they did have an assault weapons ban that WAS working. Unfortunately, it had an expiration date, which just plain sucks.

What's even worse about this one is that apparently neither the little girl nor her father were involved in the basketball playing, or the attempt to retrieve the ball. The mom and dad were grilling outside and the girl was riding her bike.

Oh, even better:

He said his grandfather believed in right-wing conspiracy theories and was influenced by the “fear and paranoia” stoked by some right-wing media, which was often “blaring in his living room.”

The shooter in this one, 65 yr-old Kevin Monahan, has been indicted for murder in the second degree, reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence. I don't know what he supposedly did to incur the tampering charge, but I'm glad he's been charged for the killing.

Yeah, saw a news report on this one. Evidently his shotgun blast went through the back window of her car, which of course corrobrates her friends who say they had turned around and were leaving.

He was remanded without bail.

Given his age I doubt he ever sets foot outside of a prison again.

And they got this one right - Monahan was convicted of murder yesterday.

"Monahan had pleaded not guilty to charges of murder in the second degree, reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence in the death of 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis on April 15, 2023. He was convicted of all charges after about two hours of deliberations."

The DA "will seek a maximum sentence of 25 years to life when Monahan is sentenced on March 1."
