I just paid $8 for MW1, when did it come out, last year ? And I can get $6 for it from Amazon trade in so net cost is $2.

I'm pretty sure it came on November of 2007, followed by WaW in 08, and MW2 in 09. MW2 came out last year, Black Ops this year, and another offering from Infinity Ward next year.

I picked up mw2 on the steam sale and it is by far the worst game I have every played. There's at least 1 hacker in every game I play online. The lag is unbearable. The gameplay is horsecrap. Everyone just camps to get killstreaks so the deployable aimbots can get more kills for them.

I even joined a server and the host hacked my account so I was level 70, and now I can't undo it. I actually wanted to level up on my own and another player ruined it for me. The anticheat for this game is nonexistant. In cod4 I probably saw maybe 4 hackers in about 3 years of playing nonstop. That speaks volumes for the ability of server admins to kick the shitheads out without an anticheat doing it for them. This game doesn't have that ability. Anyways. Blackops should fix all this garbage and Treyarch will actually support the game on the PC like they did with W@W.

The PC and 360 versions of MW2 are shit, the PS3 version seems to be the cleanest. No hacks, no modded controllers, fewer kids and a more enjoyable chatter.

Having mass appeal has nothing to do with quality. It means it's dumbed down.

Compared to? I'm intrigued to hear what you consider a more sophisticated FPS game. The campaign is one of the most cinematic experiences I've had in a video game, and the multiplayer is definitely more dynamic than most others. If anything, every other FPS is dumbed down.

The multiplayer is very dumbed down. The newer Call of Duty games are more about twitch reaction than actual skill. They maps are small so all you really need to do is just hold down the trigger button or die and let a grenade drop after you die or camp until you get a perk.

MW2's story was absolutely retarded. It was so bad, Uwe Boll doesn't want to make it into a movie.

For the PC platform, nothing is dumber than not having dedicated servers for a shooter. Almost every PC shooter has dedicated servers.

You want a good example of dumbed down? The game didn't have lean. That's been a PC standard for a long time now.

I liked CoD4, but MW2 was a horrible downgrade.

As dumb as the plot might have been, the Campaign was epic, whether you like it or not. Uwe Boll doesn't need to make a movie about CoD, MW2 in of it self is a 1.2bil dollar movie, Actvision wouldn't let him touch it with a 20 gazillion foot pole.

For the PC platform, nothing is dumber than not having dedicated servers for a shooter. Almost every PC shooter has dedicated servers.

Everyone knew the PC version was gonna be bad, all reviews mentioned it before the game even came out. You'd be stupid to have purchased it.

The game was dumbed down for a reason, to sell copies and DLCs, it worked didn't it? Yet the majority of people suck horribly at the game.

I liked CoD4, but MW2 was a horrible downgrade.

Each to its own...

Please give a definition of twitch reaction vs. skill. If aiming is a skill, would that not qualify as twitch? If you can't aim effectively as your reaction, then what does it matter how fast you react?

The enemies are close enough where you don't have to aim accurately. Is that better?

So you believe that having a talent at twitch is inferior to the ability to have all the time in the world to shoot someone from very far away that can't see you? Come on man, you gotta bring a lot more argument than that.

Let's face it, there is not one hate response about MW2 that makes sense. I, even as a fan, can come up with some legitimate hate for it. And that's why I'm getting Black Ops: A lot of the stuff I hate was fixed.

Given it was a retail success and shareholders loved it. Gamers did not. Hell only 4 people in my 60+ fps clan bought it. Those were lost sales no matter how you look at it.

There is a reason why all the things we complained about are in BO.

lean is absolutely not a standard and certainly hasn't been for a long time.

It's been a standard since what? The original Rainbow Six? I'll give this game a buy when I skipped MW2 just due to them willing to give some love back to the PC community. Defend MW2 all you like but they told us all to go get bent.

I guess some people do enjoy that though...

The engine for Black Ops is a revamped version of the MW2 engine.

How revamped is it going it be if it's coming out for the same platforms?
Consoles need to stop holding back PC games :(

BTW MW2 was friggen awesome and deserved all the hype. They really pushed the envelope in terms of FPS innovation. From run n gun with dual uzi's to calling an airstrike with an A-10, all in the suburbs of the USA.

Maybe "standard" is the wrong word, but I seem to remember Rainbow 6 having lean. That was 12 years ago...definitely not a feature that should be dropped IMHO.

Dual wield is innovative...since when? Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo 64?
