Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera goes absolutely ballistic (by their standards) against each other

Too bad that neither of them would leave their narrow view of the issue and see that there was a nugget of truth in both their positions. O'Reilly is correct that had this guy been deported on his first arrest that the girl would still be alive and Geraldo is correct that this particular case is more about DUI and the justice system than it is about illegal aliens.

An illegal immigrant who drove drunk. It seems illegal immigrants are the cause of all or most of our crimes. If we get them out of the country, we will be crime free!

Teenage girl in Virginia Beach is killed by a drunk driver that happens to be an illegal alien. He had been convicted 2 times previously for DUI and was allowed to continue to live in the US. Furthermore Virginia Beach has declared itself a "Sanctuary City" in regards to dealing with illegals.
 
LOL, that was a great. I liked how they calmed down and O'Reilly said, "So what's going on with your show this weekend?" or something.

I've never seen O'Reilly get that pissed off before. Good times.

This thread is going to turn political anyway, so I'll rebut.

O'Reilly didn't say that, did he? He pointed out that it was about the guy, not Latinos. I didn't hear him mention anything about increased crime by illegal immigrants. Did he say that?

They had an incident like that in Tampa where an illegal was driving drunk and killed a cop.

no... he was basically just saying that the issue isn't the fact that he was an illegal immigrant... the issue was the fact that he was a drunk driver. o'reilly tried to make it political by making it about the drunk driver was an illegal immigrant.

I guess you can look at it that way. If we follow Bill's logic then, we should not only deport every DUI illegal immigrant so they don't DUI and can possibly kill somebody, but we should also jail all DUI drivers for life whether they're citizens or not, so they cannot possibly kill anybody in the future with their reckless behavior. But if you do that, then you wouldn't have G.W. Bush as President.

Thanks, guys. I can see why Bill got really heated over this. The few times i've watched him, he was getting angry about things that were pretty insignificant in my view.

Linflas, I agree that both sides have elements of truth. It's ridiculous that an illegal immigrant can commit a crime and still get to stay in the country. It's also true that this same situation can happen and has happened to many people who weren't immigrants. I read a story every day about somebody who was caught driving with 5 previous dui's on their record.

I thought it was obvious that I was being sarcastic. 😉 [edit: sarcastic about illegal immigrants committing more crimes. Actually on the video Geraldo said they commit less crimes. Not sure if that's true.] The whole "illegal immigrants commit crimes so they shouldn't be here" is kind of stupid. It boils down to the fact that they have no right to be here. So just stick with that. Tacking on the "they're going to kill your wives and rape your daughters" b.s. turns it into an emotional argument.

Bill O'Reilly didn't mention other illegal immigrants, but if he didn't want to make a point about illegal immigrants in general then there really was no point to discuss an otherwise insignificant event on his show.
