Sorry for the late post, but I was at my local TRUS last week and they had the XBOX for $179.99. This is the version without the two free games inside. However, there is a coupon stuck on the outside of the box which you can send in to receive JSRF and Sega GT 2002. The price of the XB system with the games bundled inside was still $199.99. I didn't get a chance to see if these prices are still valid, but it seemed like they were pricing them to move their inventory. Not exactly a hotdeal, but thought I pass this along.

One question: Is this the original Xbox console? With the original controller, rather than the "S" controller? That would account for the price difference.

Regardless, I think that is a pretty smokin deal!

Thanks for the heads-up, LBM!

Stopped at the one across from work and they had no sign of clearance. Everything regular price.

Yes, the xbox reps just place a sticker on the remaining bundles with the "duke" control. Although price drops are up to the store selling them so its YMMV.

While EB tends to be VERY picky about which games can be traded in for promos like this (to the point of being bait-and-switch), Gamestop seems to accept many more titles for such offers.

I traded in 2 obviously discount titles about two weeks ago when they were running a similar promo for the choice of Splinter Cell, MGS2, or MK.

As always, jump on it quick if you want this one...such deals tend to sell out QUICKLY!

BTW: HOORAY for jiggle! :D

Is the Toys R Us XBox deal for $179 for the bundle nationwide? Does it start today, tomorrow? More details please!

YMMV is the operative word, since it will depend both upon store stock (whether they even have the original console set) and the management at your local B&M.

One person has scored this deal already, so keep your eyes peeled!

I saw a post like this too, but the one I read wasnt for GameStop, it was for Software Etc. And I think there was some rule like you couldnt trade in 2002 or older sports games or wrestling games. If GameStop has a similar deal, then cool cool.

Gamestop/Funcoland/Babbages/Software ETC are all the same company

In the Sunday 1/19 Media Play circular, there's a sheet of coupons including one for 2 for $30 Xbox Games (reg. priced @ $19.99). From the Media Play site, these are the $20 titles (NOTE: Sale is for 1/19-1/20 ONLY!):

Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
ESPN Winter X Games Snowboarding 2002
Blood Wake
Fuzion Frenzy
Mad Dash Racing
Madden NFL 2002
TransWorld SURF
NBA Inside Drive 2002
NBA Live 2002
NFL Fever 2002
NightCaster: Defeat the Darkness
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat
SSX Tricky

Not a lot of good ones there:(, though SSX Tricky isn't bad.

This is definitely a YMMV, but my local Circuit City rocks. I went in to pick up Panzer Dragoon pricematched to Compusa, and they did the pricematch with no problem. I then asked if I could still get the $10 gift card, and they wern't sure, so they asked the manager and he said no problem. After all was said and done, I got Panzer for $38.99 with a $10 gift card. Not bad, huh?

Also, as far as the Gamestop DOA volleyball deal, it seems to be national and they accept any games except wrestling games and older sports games. Now to find a couple of cheap Xbox games....:)

Circuit City rocks in general, especially compared to Worst Buy :frown:

Oh yeah...that's pretty much standard exclusion everywhere. But EB will exclude a LOT of other titles too. So much so that there trade-ins and promotions are getting to the point of not even trying anymore

Glad I was able to snake some of the cheap deals over the last few weeks. Wish there were some non-sport cheapies at my local Target tho. Those are the BEST for trade-ins! :D

BTW: That PM for PDO at CC with the GC is a nice find my man!!

Me too. That price isn't on the website anywhere. Is that price from a circular, Jmman?

I think that probably had to do with the $10 off any Xbox title regularly priced at $49.99. Therefore Panzer would be $39.99 from CompUSA right? Assuming they didn't price it at $49.50 like they did with LOTR: TTT

Yeah, Panzer is regularly $49.99 at Compusa, so with the $10 off it comes to $39.99. My local Compusa had a couple of copies. I believe the $39.99 price ends today though....:)

I read a deal on the IGN boards that said if you trade in 2 games at GameStop and pay $9.99+tax, you can get either Ghost Recon, Dead or Alive XBV, Ghost Recon(GC), The Sims, DMC2, or the Getaway. Keep in mind the 2 games need to have special criteria, they can't be old sports games or stuff like that, and also they must have a trade in value of $4.99 or greater, I think it's best that you call in and vertify before doing anything.

Also, I read that people have gone into a store like Funcoland, bought 2 used PS2 games for $7 each, then went back in line, traded those 2 games back in, and paid $9.99+tax, and walked out with one of those other games(or got a paid pre-order for it). That means they paid about $24+tax for a brand new game that would normally be $50+tax.

Can anyone get any more information on this? I'm really interested in getting Ghost Recon for XBL. :)

I just thought I would share my really funny experience with Compusa tonight. Yesterday I bought Panzer there because I didn't imagine that Circuit City would pricematch and give me the $10 gift certificate. I went to return it to Compusa since Circuit City hooked me up, and there was a really cool guy there who has hooked me up many times in the past. He told me not to return the game because starting tomorrow they are giving away a free Xbox controller instantly with the purchase of Panzer. He said just bring back my receipt and he would hook me up with the free controller. I told him that it still was a better deal at CC, but he said that he would not only get me the free controller, he would take $10 off the $39.99 price I already paid. I couldn't really argue with paying $29.99 for the game and getting a free controller even if it is a cheap knockoff brand.....:) I guess I will Ebay my extra copy....:)

Some games I saw last night for $20 at Sam's Club were these...

MotoGP (Great Xbox Live game)
NHL Hitz 2003
SSX Tricky
Mat Hoffman's BMX 2
Triple Play 2002
Knockout Kings 2002
Burnout

Those are all the ones I can remember from memory. This was at the NW Loop 410 location off of Evers Road in San Antonio, TX. I'm probably going to pick up MotoGP and Hitz 2003. I also plan on checking the prices over at the store on DeZavala this afternoon.

.......

I was wondering if anyone who is near a Sam's Club with Moto GP would mind picking me up 3 copies of this game? I am willing to PayPal you for any cost(s). The cheapest that I've seen this game else where is like $45 USED at ebgames.com. Please PM or email me, if you are willing to help an Xbox Live person out.(Actually, it's me and 2 friends that really, really want this game for Xbox Live.)

Thanks in advance for your consideration
