You can't blame Afghanistan on Trump, though. He inherited that problem from Obama, who had 8 years to figure out how to fix it and failed.

I've heard people here say that we should have gotten the hell out of Afghanistan as soon as we got Osama. So, why didn't we?
You didn't finish that string of inheritance.

What people? What sort of education do they have? What expertise do they have? What exactly did they say?

When Obama took office, we had 25K troops and 36K contractors in Afghanistan.
We surged up to 98K troops and 100K contractors in 2011
Bin Laden popped in May
In June announced winding down and begin withdrawal with exit in 2016
At the tail end of the Obama presidency, we had 9800 troops and 25K contractors.
Why?

The country seems to be settling into just a constant state of malaise at this point.
People are disillusioned. They know if they vote for Republicans, they get more fascism. If they vote for Democrats, they get milquetoast conservatives. There is no party that delivers a liberal agenda that would benefit the vast majority of Americans so while people can get motivated to vote out the fascists, the conservatives that replace them aren't anything to get excited about. Add to that the structural bias in favor of the fascist Republicans, people get even more disillusioned.

He's in free fall. Hopefully infrastructure week passes.

This plus Garland and DOJ's tepid response to 1/6 is why Dems are so disappointing for so many. They just pave the way for the GOP.
