If anybody wants, we'll be playing for about an hour and a half starting right now. Check the ventrilo room for the ip address.

Yep, the Ranger/Archer is extremely powerful in BG2. just wait until you start leveling up more. My main character was almost unstoppable.![]()
Its already been proven on a number of hardcore Baldurs Gate sites that a fighter with max points in any missile weapon is much better than the Archer Kit. He's tougher, has a naturally better THAC0 and routinely gets more and harder hits, whereas an archer has to use his special power (which is limited in use) just to get that extra edge.Originally posted by: Fenixgoon

i never found archers that useful. i much prefer melee characters - killing things always seems easier with them. also don't have to worry about armor penetration as much either.
if you haven't played a monk, you don't know "unstoppable"try a -14AC at the end of TOB (-22 in slayer form)

That all changed with 3rd edition where fighters and rangers have the same To Hit tables.
BUT... fighters do get a lot more weapon feats than anyone else so they might still have the advantage. I'll have to do some leveling in NWN2 and see who ends up being better.
The upgraded Ravager is the Halberd.Originally posted by: Fenixgoon
no bows/crossbows have a chance to slay a monster outright in a single hit. the silver sword, unyielding axe, saervok, and some halberd or another do, and that's what i like
anyway: BG2 at 7PM - I'm in.

I like giving Korgan the Axe of Unyielding, giving Minsc or Keldorn a bunch of points in halberd and then giving one of them the Ravager and the other gets the Vorpal. With the sheer number of hits you get somebody is going down soon. That strategy has worked nicely for me against a lot of tough demon and lich fights. I'm not even sure if liches are supposed to be vulnerable to decapitation in AD&D 2nd edition, but it works fine in Baldurs Gate 2.
Boo does nothing, except for being fuzzy and cute, because Minsc's insane. The ring doesn't do anything beyond it's description.Originally posted by: shortylickens
Does anybody know what effect Boo has on Minsc or what the D'Arnise signet ring does for Nalia, if anything?
(I know Nalias ring does some things as stated in its description, but since its a locked item I assume it may have other abilities, or maybe even handicaps.)
